2010 edition.

Already excited about the Spoon record, which I think has potential to be one of their best yet. But I've been excited about that for months.

First tizzy-worthy release of the new decade is a throwback; Rhino just unveiled a 6-disc Wilson Pickett box set called Funky Midnight Mover:

He's perhaps my favorite solo artist in the genre, so this is exciting news. Rhino wants $100. We'll see what Amazon offers a little later.

Good new re Disintegration. It's the most gaping whole in my Cure collection and I've been waiting for the remaster because I know I'd just end up buying it anyway.

The new Eels album is apparently an acoustic guitar/piano & vox affair he recorded with a 4-track. I could be into that...

i'm cautiously optimistic about it, considering how horrid hombre lobo was.  the song i've heard sounded really good.

Yeah, same here. The only thing he's done worth a damn in the past however many years is Blinking Lights, and it was only half-good. I'm always cautiously optimistic when it comes to Eels, but this one really has promise, I think.

that would be cool. i haven't heard anything from it, but i'd like to hear an eels album worth giving a damn about once again. here's hoping! so what half of blinking lights did you like?

i made my own 60-minute "mix" of blinking lights that is excellent.  there was just a lot of crap thrown in.

Yeah, I think I whittled until it was 11 tracks long or something. And that's a lot of whittling. "Railroad Man" was the standout for me.

Oh shit, gonna have to get that 3 CD reissue of "Disintegration." Fucking "Entreat" is OUTSTANDING and I need to own any expanded/remastered edition of it ASAP.

Excepter - Presidence

I think I'm a lone admirer here, but excited about this - a double album of the best live material from the last two years.

I liked, what was it, KA? RYM tells me it was in fact KA that I liked, and that it came out longer ago than I would have thought. Haven't followed them since, though.

Debt Dept. might be worth checking out if you're amenable to their thing - probably the most coherent one

Cool. It'll have to wait, though. I don't see myself seamlessly slipping into an Eels album after all this Pizzicato Five.

I'm listening to the stream of this and enjoying it very much. I'd wanted to check out the first album but never got around to it.

someone was telling me that the new fear factory album was good. i dont know if im ready to believe a statement like that though.

the new song on youtube has some really incredibly lame lyrics/vocals. distractingly so. the music sounds alright enough i guess.
