You're looking at something I was really hoping not to have to look at ever again. So much for that.

But, in the immortal words of Mike Patton: what is it?

Butthole Surfers - Double Live
Easily one of my favourite live albums ever. I'm pretty pleased that cover made onto another page.

In other news, I like these two records, and I listened to them on the drive from Macon to Athens this morning:

NP:
Dr. Octagonecologist
- this is the best record that the Tracy Jordan character from 30 Rock ever made.

I still haven't forgiven you for not voting this album onto the 'best of the decade' list, LPTJ.

Too many people threw you away after that second record, Tripping Daisy. This one is so good.

STNNNG - Fake Fake
Holy shit this record is so fucking good. I have no idea why I don't pull it out more. (And for some reason, Wikipedia persists in calling them a punk band, which I don't really get.)

Wow, the new Ted Leo is incredible--at least the first half is, which all I've listened to thus far. If the second half can maintain this level of quality (and I don't see why it wouldn't), I'll probably have a new favorite Ted Leo album.

That is good news. Dude's pretty solid, but the last one I didn't like so much.

You people who mildly dissuaded me from diving deeper into Julian Cope's discography are crazy. Pretty much everything I've heard so far--outside of his first album, maybe--has been fucking aces.

do you have Autogeddon yet? I've never been a devoted Cope fan (I think I have four solo albums and haven't played any of them in ages), but I was pretty into that one way back when it came out.
meanwhile, just played Greetings from Asbury Park, NJ, which I love partly despite and partly because of some of its endearing mawkishness, and also because "Growing Up" and "For You" are two of the best songs ever.

Nope. It'll probably be next, though.

Cope has this wonderful talent for making every song interesting in
some
way. Everything deserves its spot and nothing really falls flat, not even the clearly inferior songs. He'll put some twist or lilt in his voice, or replace the drum kit with bongos, or have some crazy awesome sound effect in the background--there's always something.
It makes listening to his records a real joy.

That's my favorite of his, and seems to be pretty underrated by just about everyone.
