I've heard they've already starting serving delicious food in New Orleans restaurants... JUST LIKE THEY PREDICTED IN DEEP SPACE NINE

That's how it happens!
Geordi: "I'm Geordi!"
Beverly: "I'm Beverly!"
Geordi: "And you...."
Borg: "U"

I'm always a little surprised/intimidated/concerned by your ability to recall significance details from individual episodes at the drop of a hat like that, Greg.

The show was basically what I spent ages 8 through 14 thinking about. Most of it got lodged in my head pretty securely.

For the last several of their missions, NASA has designed movie-style posters.

I clicked "more inside" on that Metafilter post about how "I, Borg" is one of the unsung heroes of healthcare reform, then I hit ctrl-F, then I typed "Greg Nog," then there were no hits. That was like 3 steps of searching for Nogian comedy only to wind up disappointed.

It was posted at 9 at night! I was on a date with the lady! Sorry, blucas. You could satisfy yourself with the Weird Al post from earlier in the day, maybe?
EDIT: just wrote about Riker's beard, hope that's enough to get you your fix

It's a pretty good pay-off:
Quote from: Greg Nog
But really, I woulda liked to see a show where the Ferengi WERE the villains. If the writers had been as good in general (and as good with Ferengi specifically) as they were in Deep Space Nine, there could have been some really interesting stuff about the way capitalism creeps into an otherwise-Utopian system to divide people through jealousy and petty one-upmanship. There's a lot of potential for an episode where, say, Geordi buys himself a nice beard trimmer, and Riker's like, "Man, I wish I had one of those," and Geordi's like, "Too bad, last one, got it from the Ferengi" and Riker's like, "Well I do believe I'll just replicate one then" and Geordi's like, "But this is the ORIGINAL" and Riker's never read Benjamin's The Work Of Art In The Age Of Mechanical Reproduction so he just pouts.

http://www.wizardworld.com/home-pa.html
Am considering going to this
Pros:
Potential of seeing my reflection in Patrick Stewart's head
I am somewhat amused by Brent Spiner's Twitter
Q
Bruce Campbell
Cons
Can't pronounce the YOUR MOTHER HAS A SMOOTH FOREHEAD insult in Klingon, won't be able to insult strangers properly
It costs like thirty bucks to get in and lines to meet people will be awful and then autographs are another billion dollars (though I'm not really interested in signed pictures)
Crowds. Sweaty crowds. Sweaty nerd crowds. One of us one of us.
Was going to spend the weekend repainting my kitchen

Generally the sweaty nerd crowds at the modern comicon are both less sweaty and nerdy than you would think.

So Dragon*Con's going on in the A-town this weekend. I'm not going, but I think Shatner might be there again.

I kinda want
this poster
, but at the same time, I'd be embarassed to have people see it on my walls. Not even because of the Trek-ness, more the sexy nature of the Borg Queen's pose. Ah, well. Sorry, Borg Queen. Would that I were a teenager again.

Notice anything about this weapons cache seized by HHS as part of a (zah?) Armenian Medicare Fraud Ring bust?
