sweet! i would love to buy that 7" so i am gonna be sure not to vanish from the board again. listening to mice in cars' good men are monsters as i type!
today i listened to the album that i'd recorded in the summer and never received until last week (flaky friend.) dunno if this happens to y'all but sometimes i get way more critical of my recordings after not hearing them for 5 months.
i'm leaning toward re-recording and a long-term/bigger picture approach. it's not something i've ever really been interested in, having usually just recorded shit drunk on friends' equipment. but i was thinking it might be pretty cool to save up my paychecks each month and pay for studio time, session musicians. maybe i could scrape up the cash to make 4-5 music videos. include 1 of my short stories with the album, etc.

Sounds ambitious, but could be really awesome!
Speaking of ambitious - I guess I decided to start another band. I could never handle more than one band in the past so this would have to be low key/side-projectish/recording-only maybe, but I can't stop writing doom riffs so I should probably start a doom band.

I usually find that if I then leave it a further six months I end up liking about half of it.
SPEAKING OF WHICH:
Last winter we recorded an album and then I got lost in a pretty bad year of work (boo hoo), and totally failed to finish making the CD boxes or really do anything else at all creative. We just finished up a bandcamp page for it, though, so if anyone would like to listen:
Tomorrow Night's - The sun has come up, and look! the punks are dancing.
There will eventually be CDs and boxes too. The half I like is pretty much the second half, I think.

I really like track 12, "Adventure"--reminds me a lot of old school Belle & Sebastian.

I dunno, it looks alright to me. Anyone else seeing that?
We recorded two more that day. No idea if/when those will get posted. My favorite things about this are 1) watching my brother, because I never get to while we're playing and he's amazing and 2) the people kind of bemusedly glancing through the window as they walk by outside.
I really enjoyed that!

I am a snob about MK. I still have Gears of War though - you can cut people up in that too!
T+P you are too kind. Drop me a PM if you want a real copy delivered.

I can't decide! I'm kind of turned off by all the preorder/DLC nonsense. They've already announced that the Vita version (coming later) will have 12 additional characters - surely those are going to be DLC for the console versions? And so I can't help but feel there'll be a $40 "complete" version within 9 months. On the other hand, it looks like an awesome game. I'm going to see how I'm feeling about Marvel vs Capcom by the time it comes out - at the moment I'm fully addicted to that.
I'll probably get it if people want to play it though.
Edit: Yeah, indeed it is Chet.

Last night = first gig we actually got paid for. We sort of had to coax it out of the promoter though. At the end of the night, he came up to our drummer and asked, "You guys weren't expecting anything, were you?" Um, well, since you put it that way. We ended up getting fifty bucks though, so that's not too bad. Put that toward the first EP.
