Ignoring time spent playing, or else bad SNES and PSX RPGs would dominate everything. It's too difficult to separate out nostalgia, my current mood, and what I would normally feel like playing on average. Pretty sure this list would change in as little as two hours, if I remembered other games or was in a different mood:

1) Dragon Quest VII
2) Chrono Trigger
3) Earthbound
4) We ♥ Katamari
5) Secret of Mana
6) Smash TV
7) Blaster Master
8) Bangai-Oh!
9) Gunstar Heroes
10) Ys Books I & II

Oh, this list is so miserably incomplete. I hate it.

PS my most played game of all time is Windows FreeCell.

Thanks!

Incidentally, I keep pushing for top-ten lists, as I'd eventually like to do what blucas does for the year-end music lists, and see if I can make some kind of summary-list that rounds up the commonly-loved favorites.

Time Spent Top 10:

1) Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri
2) Baldur's Gate 2
3) Civilization II
4) Baldur's Gate
5) Morrowind
6) Quake II
7) Diablo II
8) Morrowind
9) Fallout
10) The Sims

I had an NES which I spent a lot of time on, but that was spread across a whole lot of games -- Nintendo didn't do business in SA, so we played on clone platforms and those 42-in-1 type pirate cartridges.
Maybe I'll give an all-time top 10 in a day or two, but god knows what the criteria for comparison between M

Shit I forgot all about Diablo/Diablo II. I think I preferred the first one. That would definitely be a top-10er for me.

I had this linebacker-sized drama dude roommate for my first two years in college. His voice was like the voice of Beorn from The Hobbit. He had intimidating facial hair. But he loved Dragonball Z, was addicted to Final Fantasy 7, and was mostly nerdy like me. We used to log onto Diablo multiplayer and run around being dicks, typing out Cannibal Corpse lyrics in the chat box and slaughtering people with the magic sword we somehow acquired. He would recite the lyrics aloud as he chopped and sliced, in that mega-voice of his, and I swear to god it was one of the funniest things I'd ever witnessed.

last night i jetpacked up off a rock outcrop towards the sea as a massive battle unfolded just below (fuel rods flying everywhere), feathered the power to hover in place, then curved up to hijack an incoming banshee in mid-air and fly it off as the previous occupant fell to a watery death. halo is AMAZING.

I've... I've bought Civ V. The deluxe edition. It hasn't launched outside the US yet, so I'm preloading it.

If you don't see me for a while, you know what has happened.

How does it play? It looks like it's easy to lose your little guy/have no idea what's going on with them guns.

Related: I think I'm ready to get into shmups. Where does a PS3 owner start, pook?

step 1) get a ps2 or a 360 or a pc. the ps3 really doesnt have a lot of options as far as shmups, sadly Sad

I was about to buy it but I didn't want it to consume my weekend. If a decent rip is up by Sunday, though...

Unemployed=lots of free time and no moneys.

Odds are I will buy it anyway. I might buy the regular version and pirate the dlc and bonus stuff from the deluxe edition. That shit pisses me off. At 50 bucks sell a complete game. Also don't use fucking shitty boner in a steamy turd Steam because that shit is mega whack

i dont know if i hate myself enough to finish alpha protocol. its a shame because the cool stuff is really cool, and i love sneaking around as a badass spy... but man the rough edges are so huge you might as well consider the good parts good edges on a giant boulder of crap.

yea i mean i only paid $22 for it, and ive been morbidly curious about it ever since it got such terrible reviews so i was going to play it eventually. i dont regret having picked it up... but yea. not a good game. its a shame too because you keep catching glimpses of the rad game buried in there somewhere trying to struggle out from under the mountain of crap.
