I have a few ideas but don't know how to pull them off with limited time and craft skills.  My friends have great skills so I could use them, but how do you execute something like:

-a horseshoe crab
-labia majora's mask

?

Also my best friend and I are going to two parties together and it would be cool to dress as a pair of some kind but I don't know what.  I like inanimate objects.  What things go together?

horseshoe crab would work with a trashcan lid as a base and a lot of cardboard for the shell and tail, you just need to strap it to your back

So I went to this thing again, in much more sweaty, crowded, costly fashion thanks to the city of Detroit:

You would think they would bend over backwards for anything that brings a bunch of people in from out-of-town, but I guess all bets are off in an election year. 

I'll have pictures of our costumes in the next few days.  We were gnomes, because it was an easy costume (felt + posterboard!).  I had originally thought it was a pretty lame costume, but you would be surprised at the number of random girls who have fond memories of watching David the Gnome on PBS

so my mystery costume ended up being a lion. fuzzy hat with mane and ears, giant canavas bag converted into overalls style body with tail.

the leg holes ended about an inch below my crotch, so i was a pantsless lion.



and...uhh...morgan? i think we need to see the rest of that costume. yes.
