The Shakers, he means. But honestly they're pretty dull.

Jeremy Lin, what the heck!
I used to think Amare was great at running the pick and roll, but after tonight I suspect that had a lot more to do with Steve Nash playing MVP basketball than anything else. I worry about you, Knicks fans! You have phenomenal talent but a sketchy offense!

The Lin thing is great. He did have a bunch of turnovers last night, which helped make the late run necessary. But still-- a three-point play to tie it, and then the winner at the buzzer? Whee.
Let's let Amare get into the flow before we judge the new Knicks pick and roll.

Plus Tyson Chandler had no problem getting into the flow.

A YouTube commenter had it right. This is why Maggette never passes.

Jared Jeffries and Tyson Chandler had better nights than Amare again. Jeremy got 13 guys into the flow.

Who cares who had the bigger night? New York is playing like a whole different team with Lin at the helm. Players are going for every loose ball, looking for the extra pass... it's a thrill to watch.
I suspect, however, that the shortened schedule is helping to facilitate the streak. I believe the Lakers were playing their 5th road game of the week or something and had just done an overtime game with Boston the night before.

The Knicks are about as shallow as you can get. If they find a way to take advantage of the schedule, more power to 'em.
By the way, you know who's got a longer win streak than the Knicks right now, with an under-respected point guard just setting shit on FIRE?

I like how no one seems particularly surprised that Maggette did that.

Hey, I watched some basketball last night and was into it. Heat vs cavs. I also went to a magic game the other night and had a lot of fun. I may be into watching more and paying attention to things like players and stats. HEADS UP.

There's no way the headline was unintentional. I'm looking forward to ESPN's (annoyingly toothless) ombudsman's take on Linsanity, as her take on Tebowmania was basically "guys it's
your
fault we're beating this story to death, not ours." Of course, the Lin thing is a great deal more interesting.

I was driving earlier, skimming through stations and I caught a radio broadcast of the three-point contest. This is how it sounded:
"First ball, yes, second ball, yes, third ball, no, fourth, yes, moneyball, no. Next rack, ball one: no, second ball, yes, third ball, yes, fourth ball, yes, moneyball, yes, corner rack, first ball..."

I mean, that's funny and all, but basketball on radio is always garbage to me.

It's not my favorite either. That said, the three-point contest ranks somewhere between foosball and beach bocce on the broadcast-worthiness scale. I'm assuming they were gonna hang around to narrate the dunk contest, too.

Any of you guys watch the Southern Conference Final that just ended? Davidson vs. Western Carolina. Best basketball game I've ever seen.

I just found out that Tom Ward and Aubrey McLendon are part owners of the OKC Thunder... I mean, I got over the Seattle thievery, but that's got to be the official scumbaggiest team in the NBA. It sucks, cuz they're fun and run real well. I hate saying that I can't wait to see what happens to the franchise when they're a lottery team 10 or 12 years from now and the current crop of season ticket holders is long dead, but fuck em all. I hope they never win a championship.
