thanks for the feedback. I'll look into it at work and see what my health insurance covers.
meanwhile, this is the first year I have suffered from allergies. Dang oak sperm.

I've taken your remarks under consideration. I feel better today (only 8 hours of sleep) though I'm still paler than anybody should be who has spent as much time in the sun recently as I have. I'll pass by the campus doctor after giving my classes tomorrow.
How did it go? Anything conclusive? Anaemia? Kissing disease?

Bloody hell, this is getting ridiculous. For the past week, maybe more, I've had no energy. My body seems to want 12+ hours of sleep a night, and whenever I see myself in a mirror, I am surprised to see how bad I look: pale, with huge rings under my eyes, which are bloodshot beyond all reason. What is more, I don't have an appetite, and am developing muscle fatigue from the slightest tasks.
This is very unusual for me (nevermind disruptive of my uses of free time, like posting on here), since I'm normally very healthy. I've been eating the same as usual, and while I have been neglecting my exercise, I still walk for an hour or more a day.
LPTJ, what is wrong with me? Is the long-term stress of my situation getting to me? (I still don't know where I'll be living in September, for instance, and have been very much unemployed for the past 8 months). Perhaps I'd sleep better if I went out and worked up a proper sweat, but for the past few days I've been panting when climbing up two flights of stairs, and haven't got the energy to even follow the text-updates of the cricket going on. I can just about do my preparation for the classes I'm giving, and then sleep. It's cramping my style.
You are pregnant.

I've had the worst migraine (though with much more emphasis on dizziness than on headaches, which is unusual for me - but the fact that it the dizziness is always accompanied by a relatively moderate stinging headache at the left temple and behind the left eye makes me pretty sure it's a migraine, anyway) I've had in a long, long time since last Thursday or so. And I pretty much couldn't sleep at all tonight as a result of it. Awesome.

Gahh, I'm so sorry Alex, that is terrible! I used to get pretty bad migraines about once a week, for years. They gradually decreased to 2 per month. I cut out caffeine from my diet a few years ago and now they are very rare. If I start drinking green tea I'll have another headache. Do you think yours may be a dietary thing?

Sorry to hear that, alex, here's hoping you recuperate well tonight! Somehow also pretty much didn't sleep last night, but at least didn't have a terrible headache to deal with.

I've thought about it, and replaced my usual two pots of green tea with herbal tea just in case today. But I really doubt that it's the case - I used to have them much more frequently up until a few years ago and they've left me mostly alone in the last few years, with the exception of a period last spring (when my grandmother was very ill and I was very far and could not only not do anything but also had to make a decision about whether to stay very far away from my family for an additional 3 years), and of course those last few days now (dissertation-related anxiety). My caffeine consumption - those few daily pots of jasmine-flavoured green tea - have been relatively constant through the years, so it's all pointing towards stress as the main cause. I guess it is true that I tend to eat a less regular and balanced diet, though, so perhaps it factors in on that level. I'm sure lack of exercise is a factor as well, because, damn, I certainly haven't done much of that lately, but that's not something I can do anything about until those pesky migraines have gone away again - would have loved to go out cycling today (lovely day, and I decided to stay home from work anyway), but right now I'm in no state to do so. Painkillers are doing their thing, at least, though.

Jasmine flavored green tea sounds so delicious. I think my headaches also had something to do with hormones since they started in my teens and when I do get them they are right around the end of my cycle- but the caffeine definitely was a factor as well. Hope you get to sleep and relax today.

I know people who definitely have hormone-induced migraines. Hormonal birth control can both really help and really make them worse, depending on the type/amount of hormones used.

Jasmine tea is fantastic. All the varieties I've had will support multiple brewings, too.
My mom finds that a little caffeine actually alleviates her headaches, but then she drinks a substantial amount of strong black tea throughout the day, every day. Headaches are the worst, so disabling in a way that a sore knee, for example, isn't.

Hello, yes, this is me. Only when I'm pregnant, and mostly not going as far as a full blown headache, but I get all the pre-migraine stuff and a really weird feeling in my head for some hours afterwards, and anxiety that is way more than usual.

I don't even know what _that_ means (and my in-house Aus-US translator is busy) but I'm guessing you're right ;-) I suspect the preposition is key there.

As amusing as it would be to start an lptj rumor that NNY is pregnant, no, I don't think she's ever said she is. I was just teasing her upthread that she was pregnant.

I've never heard the term "jacked up" used for pregnant and not for lack of hearing it—usually I've heard it used to mean "fucked up" whether as in drugs or something being messed up.

I can't figure out if I've ever heard 'jacked up' except in books or songs or something, but there it means pretty much what jess said. I've heard just 'jacked' plenty, but that of course means 'highly muscled.'

The phrase "shit is jacked" is used a lot around here. It usually means something is unfortunate and/or busted but in other contexts can mean the opposite.
