They squirt warm saline water into your ear a bunch of times at a rapid clip, making lots of brown chunks of wax fall out into a little collection pan and water draining out of your ear in a waxy syrup. It feels weird but it' oddly pleasant. And it feels good to get all that shit outta there, like your ears have been walking around all this time then-- BOOM--release. They'll show you all the stuff that came out and you stare incredulously. And you can hear better.

My visit to the doctor yesterday went pretty well, I suppose. I probably have high blood pressure, so he wants me to lay off sodium (which I mostly do already) and try to drop a few pounds and then see him again in a month. I also have to have some blood work done sooner rather than later too. In all, though, I felt pretty good about how things went. (The blood pressure thing wasn't totally unexpected, really.) Definitely not as scary as I thought it'd be.

It was confirmed however that I weigh the most I have ever weighed, and I've always been overweight. So I should probably get on that.

My recent physical (first in forever) + bloodwork definitely allayed some fears, so it was worth it for that. Also the high bilirubin thing with my blood from five years ago apparently resolved itself.

I'm apprehensive about visiting the dentist for the first time in several years. I've always had some pretty jank teeth so I'm anticipating fun times.

But awesome right? The feeling of the water rushing into your ear canal is fanstastic, and afterwards when you can hear, and feel the wind _in_ your ears....it's great. using peroxide, or oil for a few days before they irrigate, it'll go much better. I haven't had mine done for ages, but I love it.

i regularly clean my ears using a bobby pin.

it is probably bad, 'cause if you go to far you'll asplode your ear drum, but i'm the only person in my family to never have an ear infection/require grommets/need that gross irrigation thing you're talking about, so i think i'll keep it up!

secret admission: I thought I was the only one...I was heavily indoctrinated with "never put anything in your ear" so I've never told anyone I do this...but the closed end of the bobby pin is the greatest thing for wax removal.

My skin caught fire for about 3 or 4 minutes just now. It felt weird... I've gotten skin flush from niacin before but this was slower, more intense, all over my body and I felt weirdly distant from myself.

Alternate water with the hope in light brassiere.

Seriously, though, take it easy. Hope you feel better.

My brother had one, which they eventually removed with surgery since the doctors were afraid of the infection's proximity to his spinal cord. It was quite a nuisance, and he had to take some time off of work, but no long term effects except that the natal cleft of his buttocks doesn't extend as far as it used to (or, as he puts it, he doesn't have an ass crack).

Does anybody have any experience or knowledge about ringworm or other fungal skin diseases? I've had ringworm (or something similar) probably a dozen times. Each times it's been quarter-size or smaller, and I've been able to get rid of it within a few weeks using some sort of anti-fungal cream. However, about seven or eight months ago, I noticed that I was getting it on the upper-middle part of my back. This is the only part of my body that it's really hard to rub stuff on, mainly because of my shoulder problems. It's still there, about the size of the palm of your hand, though more irregularly shaped.

A couple months ago I splurged and blew $60 going to the doctor, and he prescribed a generic anti-fungal drug, which he seemed to think would take care of it. It didn't even dent it. I left a message at his office--if you try to call a person in his office you have to wait 30-60 minutes to talk to someone--and he called in a prescription to the pharmacy, but it was like $150. I left two or three more messages asking if there was another generic he could prescribe, but they never got back with me or anything. There've got to be more generic anti-fungals, don't there? Maybe I should just flood their phone message box until he responds somehow.

Where do you live again?  It cost me $50 to get my scalp rash looked at by a dermatologist and the doc also looked at the lump on my spine and wrote me a scrip for my backne.  If a doctor is giving you the runaround find a new one.
