Oh god, on the Internet I call us the cats' people-parents, and it kind of nauseates me but no one has ever made a big deal out of it. We definitely call ourselves e cats' mommy and daddy at home, but like, only the other one. Like, when Bill is outside, and Linus is whining, I'll ask him if he misses his daddy. But I never hold him and talk about being his mommy.
This is essentially the point we're at as well.

I've never heard of
Mog's Bad Thing
. Maybe it wasn't available or maybe my mum didn't care for the subject matter, but my family had a lot of Meg & Mog books. Probably still does. I hope so.

I find your use of "people-daddy" to be pretty good though, as it's clear that you're not pretending that you're actually the cats' parents.
Is this a thing that is actually done? I mean, by other than real creepy people who are already creepy?

I don't think I've ever referred to myself as my cats' father, but I do greet them with "Hey, kids!" periodically.

I just congratulate it for trying so hard, and we make a plan to go over its homework in "problem areas" in the future.

I just worry that you're not
applying
yourself in the subjects that don't hold immediate interest for you, like not stepping in your own feces when you're in the litterbox.

The Meg and Mog ones are a different Mog - but they're pretty cool too!
Meg's Eggs
was a favourite of mine.
Also clare -
total
love for
The Tiger Who Came To Tea
, except of course for Benevolent Father Who Comes Home And Solves All The Little Women's Problems. But that picture of the Tiger drinking all the beer makes up for it.

I went away for a week on a cross-country moving van expedition, and when I came home my fluffy maine coon boy looked like this:
Greg brought him to the groomer on Tuesday based on a brief discussion we'd had to the effect of, "Wouldn't it be funny if Digby had a lion cut?"
It is way, way funnier than I thought it would be. He is 80% leg and 100% lack of coordination.

Since the cats have taken over, here's Phinn, one of my sister's cats:

A rock? Bella, what are you thinking?
Phinn is pretty suave.

No, it's a kilt that I ordered on etsy. Utilikilt-ish, though, and wonderfully breathable in the summer heat.

Holy christ, I don't think I had a sense of how big Digby really is until just now.
