Anyone remember that instructional cooking video to make less boring stuff from the 50s or so that was funny? I only vaguely remember it, but I wanted to show it to my brother and I can't find it in the youtube video threads or searching... So many food threads I wouldn't know where to start.

Oh, hah! Yes, it is. I don't know what I meant to write, looks like she typed right over it. Kid knows mad keyboard shortcuts.
possibly nsfw (text)
I don't even think the F word at her, but let's talk again when it's been two years and she still hasn't slept through the night.

Does this photo look photoshopped to you?
It sure looks photoshopped to me. The two men are lighted wrong and the wrong size, compared to the woman on the right.
Why would you do that? It's the main pic from the
report on today's major aftershock (another one) in Christchurch

I'm not going to go so far as to say it's NOT photoshopped, but I don't think it is. Unless the photographer is in cahoots with the mayors office and is trying to make it seem like he is more engaged with the city's woes than he really is, I don't know why he would bother 'shopping this.
The subjects look to be in a shadowy area and are backlit, so the photographer found it necessary to use flash. My guess is a combination of the lens being used and the use of flash make this photo appear a bit off.

That's what I'm wondering -- it would be a bizarrely petty way to try and make the major look more involved. It's not like they'd need to go far to stand next to some rubble. But damn, it looks photoshopped to me. The shadows on their feet look like they were cut and paste out of a different photo, and the lighting on them compared to on the lady next to them is just entirely different.

they do look a little like they are floating. The angle of the two men in relation to the buildings also looks off but that could be a lens thing. I can also see where a flash would change how they are lit and make them appear to pop out of the picture.

That *absolutely* looks photoshopped to me, but my only basis for that is having seen quite a few shops in my time, etc.
Also the woman on the right is wearing a coat, which would indicate to me that it's rather chilly outside, yes? While the gentleman on the left is wearing nothing but a suit jacket...

On first glance it definitely looks photoshopped, and I think it's because of the wrong angles with the buildings Peacocks mentions. However, I think those wrong angles are probably caused by the building being tilted from the aftershock. So I'm gonna say that it likely only appears photoshopped because the tilted buildings make the whole picture look suspicious.

Hi LPTJ. It's been awhile, but tonight I was decluttering and found a Last Plane button and thought I'd check in.
Here's some randomness: tonight I ran into someone who I haven't seen in 8 years and it turns out that she, unlike most of the folks I went to high school with, is not a complete douchebag. That was cool.

I'm sticking with it. To a guy that did years of programming shit, where correct "punctuation" means the difference between something actually working and not, it's just so much more logical than the alternative. Then again, I take this much further, and place punctuation inside quotes when it belongs there and don't when it doesn't, and that's against all sorts of style rules.

It's OK though, he updated to say that the style guide still recommends it, but that the institution reccomends not using it in stuff that they write. Or something.
