I find it rather distressing to see how Juan Cole, probably the best internet source for deeper analysis on the Middle East (certainly the most prominent) is bending over backwards to support military action against figures he (rightly) sees as harmful to the Middle East and the wider world, to the point where he is now indignantly calling people who complain about the assassination of Bin Laden hypocrites (and also denying that it's an assassination). I can see quite easily the chain of reasoning that brings him to that point, but I can see more clearly why we should never think it is a good idea to try and defend assassination missions under the rubrik of self-defence.

This isn't something you see every day: Police hunt man hiding in hospital ceiling

A patient's disappearing act is causing major disruptions at Auckland Hospital.

Patients have been evacuated from the hospital's emergency department as police negotiators try to coax out a 25-year-old man hiding in the ceiling.

Police arrived at the hospital around 8.30am to speak to the man, who has outstanding arrest warrants and is hiding-out in the hospital's roof, possibly naked.

The Fire Service is using thermal imaging devices to help locate the man.

I'm getting this second-hand from a guy I know who works at a homebrew supply shop in Milwaukee, but I think essentially they "cleaned up some language" in earlier statutes that granted exemptions in licensing and taxes to homebrewers, but did not previously explicitly forbid the consumption of beer outside the home (though they're saying it was implied), I dunno. I don't have the exact details.
