Bathory - Under the Sign of the Black Mark

Recently I've had a terrible urge to listen to lots of first-wave black metal. I want it raw, I want it brutal, I want it fast. I want to be hurt and come back for more. If it isn't vile and hateful, I'm not interested.

Surface Of The Earth - Interference LP.

Quote from: Paul Toohey, Surface of the Earth
Later we made a 7” and lp, “Interference."...After that we recorded Surface of the Earth 3, which was abandoned after it was mastered and Surface of the Earth 4 which suffered a similar fate.

Carpenters - Superstar
I'm really into the Carpenters at the moment. In particular this song is amazing. Fantastic singing and an arrangement I'd put up there with any Nancy Sinatra track.

My favourite synth driven post punk kiwis. So so modern are the best.

Huh. I've never heard of them. I guess that's what happens when you don't set foot in a record store or a show for months on end.

I really don't know how popular they are outside of my own little bubble. They played at a little venue in margate on their first UK tour and they blew everyone away, as well as being cool guys that really got on well with everyone, so we've had them back a few times.

My brother plays keys and sings some backup in this band.  The guitarist and singer is this guy named JB who we've known since we were all in like middle school.  Dude is a fucking monster guitar player.  They just put this demo online--shit is nice

Call me predictable, but I dig the hell out of the new Stephen Malkmus single.

http://pitchfork.com/news/42761-new-stephen-malkmus-and-the-jicks-senator/

Nice energy, funny lyrics, excellent guitar solo there at the end...

Now I'm gonna go listen to it again.

This morning my new next door neighbor was listening to lame depressing heavy bullshit too loud for 7:30 am so I put on Butthole Surfers Live PCPPEP while I got ready for work and it was pretty much the best thing to wake up to. "THERE'S A TIME FOR SHIT AND A TIME FOR GOD. THE LAST SHIT I TOOK LOOKED PRETTY FUCKIN ODD" excellent.

"The Shah Sleeps In Lee Harvey's Grave" is indeed a thing of brilliant beauty.

Hey, you guys heard of this album The Kinks Are The Village Green Preservation Society? I just got it a couple weeks ago, and it's really good.

I got this recently. Maybe a bootleg reissue? Hard to tell. Either way it's obviously a total killer of a song and having it on 45 is nothing but good. I really like that they've reproduced the original promo only jacket.

Finally got around to that last Bottomless Pit album. It's better than the first, I think, but something's still missing for me.
