To be fair, you did quote an article that contains the line "But the wise know -- not just with their minds, but also with their hearts ..."

I mean seriously every paragraph you read of that thing sets the bar even lower for the payoff.

If women would only stop working, wages would be high and unemployment would be low!  Selfish bitches

I pointed this out jokingly the other day. Wonder if the author was nearby

Best comment to that story I've read so far:

One of the points of the Communist Manifesto, right before mainstreaming homosexuality, is getting women out of the home and into the workforce - primarily to give the children over to the state for indoctrination purposes.  Seems to be working perfectly, huh?

Hey guys, did you know that OWS is really a Communist plot to establish a Black Separatist state in the south?

It was that particular recruitment tool -- CPUSA's cynical Scottsboro campaign -- that caught the attention and began drawing into the Communist Party a young journalist and editor in Atlanta named Frank Marshall Davis, who decades later would advise a Hawaiian adolescent named Barack Obama.

Oh man that's some Beckian dot-connecting there. At least he's conceding Obama is Hawaiian!

I hear there's a solid 250 occupiers left on wall street.  About 100 are normal people there for a cause and the rest are hangers-on

Freddy, man, I figured you were quoting some LOLconservative.

If you're being serious, counting heads at 1 location kind of misses the point, doesn't it? Regardless, here's some thoughts from 2 visionary heads who won't be leaving: Astra Taylor and Mark Grief.

If you watch the Daily Show, you've seen this already, but still pretty fucking sad/hilarious:

Quote
“Now, up until today, most Americans have never heard of the Lord’s Resistance Army. And here we are at war with them. Have you ever heard of Lord’s Resistance Army, Dawn? How about you, Brian? Snerdley, have you? You never heard of Lord’s Resistance Army? Well, proves my contention, most Americans have never heard of it, and here we are at war with them. Lord’s Resistance Army are Christians. It means God. I was only kidding. Lord’s Resistance Army are Christians. They are fighting the Muslims in Sudan.”

Quote
“I have them here. “To remove dictatorship and stop the oppression of our people.” Now, again Lord’s Resistance Army is who Obama sent troops to help nations wipe out. The objectives of the Lord’s Resistance Army, what they’re trying to accomplish with their military action in these countries is the following: “To remove dictatorship and stop the oppression of our people; to fight for the immediate restoration of the competitive multiparty democracy in Uganda; to see an end to gross violation of human rights and dignity of Ugandans; to ensure the restoration of peace and security in Uganda, to ensure unity, sovereignty and economic prosperity beneficial to all Ugandans, and to bring to an end the repressive policy of deliberate marginalization of groups of people who may not agree with the L.R.A. ideology.” Those are the objectives of the group that we are fighting.”

Quote
“Is that right? The Lord’s Resistance Army is being accused of really bad stuff? Child kidnapping, torture, murder, that kind of stuff? Well, we just found out about this today. We’re gonna do, of course, our due diligence research on it. But nevertheless we got a hundred troops being sent over there to fight these guys — and they claim to be Christians.”

I recommend listening to the actual audio.  The sputtering in the walk-back at the end is priceless.

Jesus, Rush. I never knew you was a soldier!

This puts me in the mood for some later, weirder Fahey. Signing off and getting some work done,

But seriously, I was reading the talk page of their Wikipedia article (because, at the time, the article listed them as a "Satanism/witchcraft" group (I am not making this up), which is an especially specious marking for anything watched over by the turbonerds of Wikipedia), which contained just an absurd amount of protestation to them being labeled a Christian group, and I thought to myself, "which one of the Christian right-wing types is gonna shove their foot in their mouth over this?"  Somehow, I missed Rush in my guesses.

Oh man the last time I peeked at Red State that guy was rebuking his readers as idiotic children for saying essentially what Rush said in those first two.

Get on that due diligence

Who has the time to check up on every East African paramilitary group before throwing his support behind it?

Like, it takes only a cursory knowledge of the region to realize that a Ugandan group called "Lord's Resistance Army" is probably not made up of good dudes.  You could watch an episode of 24 and be able to intuit that.

Also:  OMG A HUNDRED TROOPS (NB: they're actually advisory/tactical support).  How many cops you guys think have been deployed to Occupy protests?
