I sweated out about 15 PBRs tonight. I wouldn't even say I'm actually drunk right now, just stunned and poorly.

Nope. I know you maintain that PBR will give you wicked next day shits, but that's never been a problem for me. I can do a 12 pack of the Blue Ribbon and be reasonably hale the day after. Like today, for example.

They used to sell 18ers of pbr BOTTLES for $4.99 and I would buy 4 at a time. I never woke up hungover after an all pbr night but with the worst, stinky, greasy farts and shits the next day. I know others who feel the same way

Because I'm a gonzo motherfucker, I bought a sixer of Piggly Wiggly's new house brew ("Pig Swig") the other day and it definitely made some chemistry happen in my body

I think CVS sells some canned ale. I remember reading a review of it on a blog that expressed some amount of surprise as to its quality but basically still came down on the side of it being vile.

Are you guys sure you are not talking about Walgreen's Big Flats 1901 Lager? Which I have not tried but does not look promising?

Yeah, that's the one. I thought it wasn't a lager for some reason.

Having an Old Fashioned for the first time in a damn while. This bottle of Buffalo Trace has been sitting around since I bottled the bourbon porter, like two months ago.

My trip to San Francisco to take the Bar Exam has turned me into an enthusiastic consumer of Fernet Branca.  Was bound to happen sooner or later.

I love Fernet Branca in a Toronto, which I think is the only way I've had it. How are you drinking it? Not that it matters much for me, since it doesn't seem to be available anywhere around here.

I am drinking it in every way possible!  But mostly neat with ginger beer back, in proper SF fashion.

I also made a Fernet Old Fashioned, which was pretty awesome.

I used to drink so much goddamned Fernet. I think I cauterized my guts. Now I almost never drink amari. But the best one I ever had was Amaro Santa Maria Al Monte. If you ever see that one, grab it.

That basically is a Toronto, assuming you also use rye. Love that drink.
