I think I am going to go with a bit of red embroidery around the hem -- or maybe a pastel. Soooooooooooo indecisive. I'm doing the Kids Clothing Week Challenge again. Last Spring I made it to four garments, so while I'm shooting for 7 again this season I will be happy with 5. I have four drafted and cut, one drafted, two printed but not drafted. I'm not thrilled about any of the fabrics, they're hella old from the depths of my stash, before I had really figured out what I like. But. They're not awful, and these are as much to check sizing and fit as anything else. If they are not too small, they can always be worn as play clothes, if I can ever get HT out of the Elmo tshirt she inherited.

Make that five cut, two printed.

I don't know if it's possible to do, but free-form stitching with a sewing machine in red, not unlike what mc sometimes does (but maybe not that complicated), would be lovely.  I have this bag and I love the stitching:

Seven cut, one finished, one half-finished and I'm too lazy to switch threads for the topstitching so I took a nap.

Machine embroidery like that would be wonderful but I am no mc, alas. Settled on this:

I kind of want to start needle felting. Is it a really hard/really expensive hobby?

Thanks guys!

Bethany, it's not super super expensive.. You need wool, needles, and a substrate (foam or a felting mat) to start. You can also get multi-needle holders, which make it go faster.and probably some band aids because you'll probably stab your fingers.
I try to buy fiber from local farmers at festivals and it's anywhere from $8 to $25 per pound, but like, a pound is a LOT of wool (its normally sold in smaller amounts so you can get lots of types/colors). The needles are around fifty cents apiece and last for a long time, pretty much until you break them. Substrates are five or ten bucks each and also last.

It's pretty easy to learn. Wad up wool and stab it repeatedly until it is a thing! And ALWAYS STOP if you look away because oh god those needles are sharp.
