This is like the person whose favorite-rap-songs list I'd be least interested in.

I would absolutely check out a Meatloaf-curated tour of hip hop. Thermo, do your imagination thing.

That's a motherfucker of a beat.

I want to see someone who can seriously rap on a Young L beat though.  Roach Gigz, Danny Brown, Husalah.

That's a good song. Is that lean he's drinking in the video?

There isn't really anything else you'd mix with Sprite.

The omnipresent influence of DJ Screw/lean is a topic that would support a fairly weighty critical piece.

Lil B posted this picture of himself with T-Pain.

A key detail went entirely unmentioned.

I'd be disappointed if T-Pain didn't ride around on a Segway

Speaking of his basedness, "The Original" off of The Silent President is one of the most brutal things I've ever seen anyone do to a genre.  It's basically a sustained assault on everything you expect from a rap song.

Update: It has a song called "Beat the Cancer," with Metallica samples, dedicated to a fan with cancer who asked Lil B to rap over a Metallica sample in a youtube comment.

Aaaaamazing.

Man I just want to talk about how great this is: so great.

It's also a sustained assault on Lil B, The "Wanton Soup" Youtube Sensation.

That's a very good point.

God, it's like a Waka/Luger track melting in the sun.

New shit from Tech N9ne, Unfair ft. Krizz Kaliko & Ces Cru

Hard as fuck. Love the string glissandos, Tech on his classic 'switching up his flow every verse, chopping up the beat from different directions' shit. Also he reps for his "sick core."

dunno if any of ya remember me, my name's mike. i used to post here a few years ago, i was lucky enough to meet jeb & even crash on el-josharino josh's couch one night in omaha.

anyway, i find my way back to LPTJ for these hip hop threads fairly often. always a good read for new things i should be checking out, figured i'd finally reset my password to say thx & hello.

curious if any of you read these "the what" columns (1 and 2) at tinymixtapes? i just started writing for the delorean section, it's been interesting keeping up w/ the other stuff on the site even if it's sometimes too snarky or overdone intellectual stuff.

hahaha, I'd forgotten about that Frere-Jones thing.  Way to be proven wrong, dramatically, and immediately, dawg.  Reminds of when, back in '07, this dude I know wrote this long blog post about how he thought Adrian Peterson was an injury-plagued fraud at Oklahoma and how any team would be foolish to draft him
