This The Binding of Isaac thing is really cool. It's a dungeon crawler with a bevy of gameplay influences - if Zelda was a Smash TV type dual-joystick shooter (or dual d-pad) set in a roguelike dungeon crawl. With a very dark sense of humour. Dick, you should try this out. Everybody should try it out, it's just $5.

OK, turns out this game is a) right up my alley and b) too-hard-as-fuck for me right now.

I'm not even that far yet but I played another couple of hours today. some huge dude with a mace rushed out at me from some church door and I fought him for a solid five minutes or so before he finally went down. Found a blacksmith and some crazy demon thing with no legs - stayed away from that one - then pushed on into the church wondering how far I was going to make it. Wandered around a bit, nearly died, found an elevator and thought "oh well, may as well die down there as anywhere else" and pushed the button. Found myself in some familiar looking ruins and then that music started to seep in and I knew I was back in the safe central area. That was quite some feeling, which I guess I'd describe as elation more than relief or happiness or whatever.

I think I'm getting the hang of the combat again too. My lady still rocks that woodland look, got that shortsword, short bow, wooden spear, leather shield. I'm going to see how far I can get without resorting to out-of-character weaponry, but if it's anything like Demon's Souls then I suspect I'm going to want some magic and a proper shield before long, even if the other weapons stay useful.

Man, so the depths turned out to be my personal dark souls toilet. I was cursed by a jumping lizard and lost half of my HP and various other tomfoolery. The only cure is a. 6000 souls at the sewer merchant. or b, 3000 souls at the priest who appears after the bell tower gargoyles. So I had to triapse all the way back to the 3000 dollar dude, after failing to kill the gaping dragon about 4 times. I can't use my humanity or summon friends while cursed. So I got up this morning on a mission. I went forth on a journey and purged the curse. Now I am waiting to summon some people to help with this dragon. This disgusting hellraiser dragon.

i know you are anxiously awaiting news of elvis's sojourn into dark souls so i'll try to keep the updates a'comin'. i got up this morning and did some pliometrics at around 530 am and then took elvis to the gaping dragon for some payback.

payback's a bitch, gaping dragon!

shout out to teebok who helped me before, towards the end, the gaping dragon gave him a fuckin'. teebok, i'm pourin some liquor out for ya DAWG. also that npc g who i summoned who died real quick.. .you weren't a real person like teebok, but same thin' dawg. lil liquor for you.

then i spend 2k souls on astora's crest and opened the door in the forest. there are dudes in there that are invisible and other dudes who are not, but are just as bad ass. it turned into a giant fucking, and i was the one takin the shaky, instead of dishing it out. but there is a way you can dump em off the cliff...

anyways. elvis is level 37, i've got 3 pyromancer spells, and i'm not sure where to go next. blighttown i guess. i started goin in there but then i decided to wander around... sometimes i hang out in the main bone fire in firelink shrine and just kinda hang out. i get stressed i guess. it's weird. then i made some chicken in the crock pot and am about to go jog a 5 miler, and do some elliptical shit. i gotta be in shape to take elvis to tha NEXT LEVEL. swag.

next time i'm gonna do gears shit for real. y'll boot the disc up, wait for the party to get goin', and you hear a knock at your door.

"who is there?"
"marcus?"

but it'll be me! revving a chainsaw lancer, a REAL one, and dressed like marcus with a flappy muscle suit, and i'll be clearly psychotic, having survived years of jess's "one on one" therapy, and salivating in my solid snake-like mustachio.

I'll offer you a syringe of HGH in my palm, like offering a treat to a stray kitten, then right when you're about to take it I'll snap it in my fist and reduce you to tears man, the raisin-balled tears of hormonal angst. Then bust out the shotty and it's all over, Chet stepping out of the closet in a latex S&M suit and flamethrower.

I've never played Dark Souls or its predecessor, but I know enough that this is deeply impressive: A Dark Souls speedrun completing the game in less than 90 minutes. Just another way in which that game spurs on a sense of self-loathing in the people who play it.

I got cursed by them frogs too, milly.

I think Blight Town is my favourite level so far, but everyone on the internet seems to hate it. I haven't finished it yet but I escaped with my life last night after a couple of hours in there and it was the best feeling. I fell asleep from exhaustion pretty much immediately thereafter. Make sure you have some arrows before you head in there, and some anti-poison technology.

Yeah I preordered Skyrim on a random impulse when I ordered Dark Souls. I don't know why, I don't really play RPGs.

First NFL Blitz game since 2003 just announced, coming out January 3rd

It is on (assuming EA doesn't fuck it up, which might be assuming a lot)
