GI, It's really taking all the restraint I possess not to post the shirtless climbing picture of you from FB

This one?
As you can see, not much in the way of muscle bulk, but trim - the more you take up with you, the harder you work.

Ha, the ruggedness is a little diminished by the Zoolander pout. But still, neat.
I have a swollen epiglottis. While it's a relief that the thing I could see at the back of my throat is a body part, not a cancerous tumour that would have to be removed, resulting in me going mute (I thought I'd go for as florid a theory as possible), having a slight fever and feeling as though I'm on a boat all the time is kind of a pain. Walking and waving my arms is now an exciting adventure, and I had amazing dreams last night, though that may have been a result of watching The Fall.

Did you enjoy it?
The tip of the iceberg of the screaming, incoherent stress I've been trying not to mention over the last couple of weeks is I found these pictures of me when I was 23, and oh, I had this idea in my mind that I was at my fattest about four years ago, but these photos, Jesus, they are haunting my thoughts, I mean I was BIG. And now I'm stressing because I'm not exercising enough and I'm going to turn into that again.

That pic is pretty awesome GI. I was managing not to post anything sleazy on your fb page, but man, you're a spunky bloke!

You're just about the only one. It makes me wonder what effect the one of me in stockings would have had as a profile pic.

Don't stress! Stress is a demotivator. Do a little something you like that's also good for you. Dance party? Fabulous piece of fruit?

In stockings and climbing? I'm up for it...I figured I'd leave the sleazy comments for the young ladies in your immediate vicinity as I am neither of those. (and not a lady either fwiw)

I did a thing I do every six months or so and went on a bike ride! On a road along the coast of dirt and sand and rocks! I fell off four times! It took three hours! And now my buttocks are disintegrating, my shins have telescoped into my thighs and my arms will never again move above a 45 degree angle.

Yay you! Bikes are great.
I got my bike serviced the other day and I've ridden it twice (only) since then. I discovered that I've lost the keys to my lock :-( so I may have to get a new one before I can ride it anywhere that I want to leave it for a while. Also need to get the trailer fixed so's I can take Ezz with me.

Hurrah for bikes!
I finally broke through 130, goodness that took forever, and in the end it wasn't the exercise but a week's worth of stress-based failure to eat enough that got me there. Not exactly a silver lining, but.

Congratulations! You're my role model! Did you have to change much in your eating habits? What do you do for breakfast and lunch when you are really busy?
I got the mypal fitness app for my phone and was doing it for about 2 weeks and then stopped because it was everyone's birthday and there was beer and cake and I felt shitty for going over my calorie assignment. It said I should be eating 1200 calories a day and it is hard to eat just the right amount without starving myself or beating myself for going 60 calories over. I never knew beer and wine could be so calorie-ific. I haven't exercised at all. I know that would help.

there's still a kona kula frame taking up space in my apartment, what's left of the bike that was stolen and found again a year later, and i don't know how to go about getting the parts to build a fantastic new bike. so non-fixie bike people: please message me links on either bike building or suggestions for great parts? so we can go for bike rides in the spring.
i've got another fitness dilemma that maybe you can help with: where should i run? i tried my friend's stairs and one set smelled like sweat, onions and vomit while the other like old stale urine - inner city living at it's finest? - so it looks like i'm stuck getting a gym membership. the problem is that while machines aren't the greatest for the body (since it's forced movement) and i'd rather use a track, the only track i know of is at the ymca. the offence is take with that is apparently part of the local jail's reintegration program includes $10 memberships for recently released criminals. so i fear being gawked at by sex-starved maniacs with a historical record of not have enough control over their impulses to stay out of the pen. is this enough incentive to sign a contract at a gym in a city i can't see sticking out until this time next year? what do i do? does this mean i don't have a choice but get a can-fit pro certificate and start teaching classes at world health for the chance to work out for free? instructors get to work out at the gyms they work at without having to sign up, right? i'm looking into it today but am wondering if anybody has insight into this. i've got more time than money until march and know the gym at noon is a good place to meet people who have jobs and take care of themselves.
peacocks: 3 beers are the calorie equivalent to a sunday dinner so you've got to be careful with that. i don't want to give up beers with the boys on wing wednesdays but that's where i draw the line. booze is a dangerous enemy to the pretty!

Yeah, I started drinking straight gin with a splash of soda water and a slice of lime since 1 drink of that and I'm good for the night, but there are so many yum yum beers and delicious holiday cocktails around me right now. I had one at a party on saturday that tasted exactly like an andies mint they give you at the end of dinner at olive garden, and another that same night that tasted like apple pie. Also over thanksgiving my cousin's fiance kept making me kentucky sunrises which I guess are vodka, tequila, and orange juice.

The "Kentucky" part makes me suspect there was bourbon in place of tequila.

my weekend secret for keeping on track is to order a gin and tonic and then proceed with soda and lime, in a 1 to 4 ratio, since they look the same and everybody thinks i'm getting thrashed with them while keeping moderately responsible. so i get to rock out with the hardest of party friends without the hangover/regret factor.

I don't really care about that. I order just water at bars all the time and I drink it with a straw and no shame. Like a pro.
