i dunno what that dogg is talking about he must be middle class

no calling out occuring, just didn't want lptj'ers to think that these shows somwhow flew under the radar in their country of origin x
I was kidding anyway, I thought the addition of Cheers to the list made that evident.

Right, so I grew up without a TV. When I was very small I would watch Playschool and Sesame Street at my grandmother's house, but otherwise it was nothing until I was a little older and then I just watched The Simpsons and the French MTV channel we for some reason had broadcast in NZ. So that means that until last night, I had NEVER watched The Muppet Show. I suppose you guys probably know this already, but it's pretty good! And pretty strange! I enjoyed Leo Sayer wiggling his scary skinny legs to "You make me feel like dancing" with a flock of googly-eyed birds.

Not sure I know how I feel about the Sherlock finale. Kind of stretches believabilty, doesn't it?

I'd so mimic Sherlock Holmes if I could. Minus his cocaine habit.

I thought this Sherlock round all in all was a solid effort.  The characters were consistent and generally awesome.  The banter was witty, fun, and well acted.  I think the plot is where this one really dropped off.

I remember liking the first season but hating the second season. 'Course I guess I was 8-9 at the time, so I don't put all that much stalk in my discerning taste at the time. I'd watch a couple, though.

The pilot movie is good campy fun, the rest of the episodes I've seen (maybe four or five) were all pretty bad. There was one episode with Jack Palance as a cult leader type in which the amount of scenery chewing will give you indigestion. Erin Gray is cute but boring. Twiki's noises get incredibly annoying before the end of the pilot episode. I like the title theme and the lead actor. I like the futuristic disco stuff that pops up. I like the one scene in the one episode where Buck and an instructor argue over football analogies while beating each other up in front of a classroom. That's all I got!

I expect that's probably on the money, it's not one I'm itching to revisit. It was fun at the time, though. But yeah, the movie - and the Flash Gordon one that came out around the same time, were both good campy fun, I think.

70s television camp tip: made-for-TV-movies are where it's at. I just dl'ed one the other day where they transposed the plot of Duel to a beach. Instead of nameless evil trucker terrorizing man for no apparent reason, it's nameless evil hippies in dune buggies terrorizing man for no apparent reason. They even re-use the same lead actor.

I am a guy with machismo, and being a guy with machismo, I watch shit with fucking guns and mustaches and shit. I'm a credible authority on machismo. My left leg is named Clint. My right leg: Easterbrook. Yeah, ain't quit got to Eastwood levels on tha' bitch. But http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHPTZ2n5O0s&feature=related

Nick Diaz man. That guy has machismo, like a lot more than I do. Like so much that I feel like a woman with a purse from that store at the mall, uh, one of those stores at the mall. Coachhouse? Some place where ladies get purses.

Worth watching that shit, just for the DIAZ shit. DIAZZZZZ

Why you always posting in the TV thread if you fuckin hate TV? I'm just asking cuz I think it's kinda ridiculous cause you are like giving lectures about how people are better off carting a stone into their living room and shit. I ain't trying to call you out Missy, but I'm just wonderin' why I keep seeing your name pop in. I ain't even know what you're talking about cause I ain't clicking thees links about some French fucking pastry chefs or something. I ain't calling you out. I just think it's a bit eccentric, when I don't think you even own a television!
