Damn, local shop has last year's model of the bike I really really want on close-out, for like 20% off. Think I might go pick that shit up tomorrow.

Jeb,

That's the bike I've got! I don't know too much about bikes at all (basically just know what I like), but I've had it about 8 months now and have had no regrets. Rides well, feels solid, easy to maintain. I'm mostly a commuter and the Dew works perfectly for this purpose. The gears are a little bit goofy with these weird trigger action deals, but it very quickly became second nature for me.

I'm sayin', Jeb... I think you should get your dream bike. I'm always super cautious about big purchases, but this was one I've been totally happy with.

Kona's are a sick make. They are named after the trails on the West end of the Big Island of Hawaii and made right here in the Canadian Pacific NorthWest. I have a frame to rebuild, buy sexy parts one by one to make my dream hardtail.

Well, probably a good instinct given the craziness that is happening in Syria right now.

I think you told me that more than a year ago, but I was in no way confident enough for them then. Now I feel like I really know this bike.

so far so good! I need to re-wire the brakes because the left hand stops the back wheel and it's driving me crazy. And toughen up my ass because apparently it's been too pampered by the big soft public bike seats.

I biked down to coldforge's place today, and finally got to go down the Prospect Park bike lane that caused a lot of controversy when certain drivers started whining about having a car lane taken away.  It's real nice! Separated from traffic by a row of parked cars, and all.  I'm glad it's there!
