Her back is toward you, in case you didn't notice.

This:
http://www.etsy.com/listing/70920322/the-big-daddy-the-ultimate-nip-filled
She loves it so much and will sit on it and then roll around on it and hug it. Pretty adorable. She's had it for months and still loves it.

Are cats a danger to themselves and/or others when they're brainfucked on the nip? Do they have withdrawal symptoms? Yes these are serious questions I'm asking.

Different cats react differently but ours mostly just goes a bit crazy and jump around. I wouldn't let her out onto the road while she was behaving like that but other than that she's fine. No idea about withdrawal as she can't talk, but she normally just does her thing like usual once it wears off.

I showed my mother a picture of your cat, saying she was going to grow up to be a very pretty cat. She replied with (facebook)
"ahhh she's adorable.. very lolaesque
but she has 2 good eyes"
my cat has a half white / half black face too, but her white eye is all squinty and blinks a lot, and makes her look really saucy. If you look at her from one angle she can look super cute but if you move and look at her from another angle she looks all angry and irritated and shit.
so my mother is saying your cat less saucy looking than mine.

Oh, hey! Subset of snuggling/petting to make a cat calm: the Slow Blink. You sit near the cat, not trying to touch it, and while you're looking at, give it a bunch of real slow, lazy blinks, like you're falling asleep. That's cat language for "I'm calm enough to chillax around you and thus consider you to be my friend"

I feel like Greg has cameras planted in all his friends' with cats homes ready to film people blinking slowly at animals while scrupulously avoiding contact. He will set the video to Kate Bush songs.

It pains me that any cat video I could create can't be as good as the classic
Cat Massage
demonstration.

Which is different than when we act stoned while watching the "Cat Sitter" videos...

Sometimes I catch myself blinking at people to say hello when passing in corridors because I do it at cats so often. So far nobody's blinked back but when they do I'm definitely going to bop them on the head with my paw to teach them a lesson about trust.

I am going to cheerfully imagine you in a suit, pacing the halls closing your eyes at people, with a slight head nod. I am imagining it sending a message that is less "hello" or "I trust you" or "I'm not threatening" than "I have something in my eye" ; "I fancy you" or "I have a neurological disorder".

I find the blinking works better on the dog than on the cat, but my dog has excellent eyebrows, so maybe there's that connection...

I have managed to not buy Ingeborg any toys—instead fashioning things for her to bat at out of various household items—but I would be willing to drop a tiny bit of money on a quiet toy she can play with by herself. This would be for nighttime use, so as to keep her from waking us up every hour to play with her. (She can chase a marble for hours, but damn if they aren't loud on the wooden floor. Also, they too easily get lost behind the fridge.) Any suggestions?

Wouldn't a marble be a choking hazard?

get some catnip, put it in a little sock that you tie shut with a shoelace. empty tea bag wrappers rolled up into small balls are good too and a little noisy but less noisy than marbles.
my cat does most of her insect hunting at night. I don't have a bug problem at all and I think Muna is the reason.
