Hey guys this shit is really damn good. It's "fractured classicist" Lil B, which ain't my favorite Lil B, but within those parameters it's...really damn good.

I'm surprised how much less time it took me to figure out that I'd already read Julian Casablancas.

You'll be trawling used record stores for rare Dingbats twelves before the year is out.

I'm sending this new mixtape to Bill O'Reilly, the first track will be confusingly validating for him.

Also I really like this mixtape

Surprisingly, the 13" remix albums are the easiest to find, even though they were pressed in such limited quantites and most of them were deleted almost immediately. You know, that makes me wonder--are any of the albums still in print?

Yeah dogg, it's getting increasingly difficult to find any of the canonical releases. Checked a record store the other day and the only thing they had was The Promise Ding - An Emo Tribute to the Dingbats. Valuable maybe for those who wanna hear Funeral Diner's take on "No More Whoring/Augen auf und aufgepaßt," but for the rest of us, a disposable curiosity at best.

Yeah, I never found anything worthwhile about that one. Dingbattabgnid: Dingbats Do the Dingbats was a much better--if less conventional (and far less commercial)--tribute. Also, it was released as a booklet of thirty seven pink translucent single sided flexis. Man I thought that was the coolest shit ever. I can't believe I sold it.

Haven't you heard "Realist Alive"?

Lil B will never a) be able to spell "realest", b) use the word "prolific" correctly, or c) pronounce "grandeur."

Still in the dark about the Dingbats, and I'm happy to stay here. Perhaps the mystery Dingbats knowledge would be too much for me right now.

It's not just Lil' B on that one - "rare" is now internet speak for "please give me page views".

The Mystery Dingbats was another side project where the Dingbats wore presidential masks and covered their own songs with meek hand gestures. They released one 7" under the name, Still Bill/The Erotic Neck of God.

That was the one where the first 100 copies had "smell her hair" etched into the run out groove, wasn't it?

Yet Another Tiny Motherfucker From Young Money by the totally contentless name of Short Dawg got Z-Ro on a Timbaland beat.  So I guess that Baby money is good for something.

So hey, it looks like Jeezy has decided to start making good music again.

The latter is pretty great, though it's not going to replace "International Players' Anthem" at my nuptials.
