Yeah, i checked, their camera angle is off-center just enough that I was just outside of the picture by about 4 rows. Pretty great for a $30 stubhub purchase. I was completely surrounded by Rockies season ticket holders, so I practiced a bit of restraint at the points the Braves were doing well. Going again tonight to see Minor pitch against the ageless wonder.
The ageless wonder, who I like a lot, is the main reason I'm going with Freeman in my pick-6 today.

apparently minor is a cousin of some sort of mine. i have no idea about the distance of the relation though because my mother's family is huge.

Lots of great baseball in your metro right now! Both teams 18-9. The O's at Nats interleague series in a couple weeks should be fun as hell.

I did a 3.00 team today, just for fun. These days with only a few games are good days for bargains and/or getting crazy: Erik Bedard/Wilson Ramos/Pedro Alvarez/Jason Kipnis/Henry Rodriguez
For Sunday kicks, I'm taking your $3.00 team and raising the difficulty: all-fifty cent, all-Pirates and Orioles lineup.
Charlie Morton/Michael McKenry/Mark Reynolds/Neil Walker/Adam Jones/Jim Johnson

That's nuts! You should be getting free tickets to choice games!

Oooh, nice twist. I've done the all-one-team before, but never combined thatwith all fifty cent players.

Got a good chuckle at some postgame comments by Moyer and Chipper. Moyer accused Chipper of stealing signs, and Chipper was like, "Dude, you throw 78, why would we need to steal signs?" Man, I love Chipper.
Gonna stick around and see if the Bravos can finish up the sweep today.

never met the kid! i think it's something along the lines of being a grandchild (or great grandchild) of my mother's mother's sibling or something along those lines. my mom was one of 7 kids and her mom was one of 11.. so you can imagine how many people i'm related to that i've never met and probably never will meet.
i would not turn down free tickets though. it's a shame that he didn't come up through the system when the braves AAA team was still in richmond.. i might have tried to meet him or something. maybe i'll ask my mom next time i talk to her how far off the relation is.

Oh my God this Orioles game. Looked like it was going to come down to a harrowing throw to the plate in the bottom of the 16th, but now headed to the 17th.

Adam Jones 3-run homer to left in the top of the 17th.
Adam Jones is a badass.

THAT WAS THE GREATEST GAME OF ALL TIME
CHRIS DAVIS (Orioles designated hitter and occasional corner infielder) pitched the last two innings, STRUCK OUT ADRIAN GONZALES and forced a double play to end the game in the bottom of the 17th inning, putting Baltimore into a tie for the best record in baseball and possession of 1st place in the AL East

Chris Davis' last pitching appearance prior to today was for the Longview High School Lobos in Longview, Texas

via BLS:
Chris Davis is the first AL position player to get a victory as a pitcher since Rocky Colavito in 1968.
Davis also is the first pitcher to go 0 for 8 at the plate and get a victory since Rube Waddell in 1905.
This was the first major league game since 1925 in which both teams used a position player to pitch.

A thing I just noticed which suggests that maybe the O's early success isn't a total fluke: Baltimore has the third best run differential in the majors (+34) after St. Louis (+62) and Texas (+47).
Alright I'll shut up about the Orioles now. After all, they have a potentially sobering four-game series against the Rangers this week.
