Hey pollo, I'mna post some more American Thinker, but if it makes you feel better I'm basically just acting as a trolling-jm-and-jeb middleman.

http://www.americanthinker.com/2011/11/generation_null.html

Quote
We begin with a fact: the self is not the soul.  The existence of the soul is an assumption or hypothesis.  The soul is not the originator of the soul -- God is.  The hypothesis of the soul is simple.  This is not true of the modern notion of the self.  The status and origin of the modern self is not evident: "The soul may be responsible for its [the soul's] being good or bad, but it is not responsible for its being a soul; of the self, on the other hand, it is not certain whether it is not a self by virtue of its own effort."

1) lolwut
2) This apparently has something to do with OWS?

Also,

Quote
Judeo-Christianity is grounded, at a minimum, in the Decalogue.

Maybe we should get rid of latter part of that hyphenate then

This piece really is amazing; it's like he wrote a screed about the United States' moral decay that he pieced together from his youth group leader's sermons, but then OWS was in the news, so THEY MUST BE THE PERFECT EXAMPLE OF THIS

LOLconservatives, Kiwi style: apparently the 1% are "The new Jews", because they're being scapegoated for all the evils of capitalism.

It's so cute how the press is pretending that GOP primary voters might possibly give a fuck about one of their candidates having a history of sexual harassment

Or, let's be honest, most voters of any kind.

Democratic voters tend to care.  Imagine if Obama had such an accusation against him?  We'd be looking at President Clinton II.

There's a sexual assault charge now.

This is probably true. I guess I'm just being overly cynical about how many people actually care about that, vs. how many people (on either side!) spring from the woodwork to be like "bitch be gold-diggin!"

I made the rounds on the right-wing blogs and was actually a little disappointed by the lack of scrambling-to-defend-Cain.  Probably because no one really thought the guy could actually be president anyhow.  They're content to stick with the LOL GET A JOB HIPPIES coverage of OWS and mostly ignore it.

There's this bizarre Rush rant, though  http://mediamatters.org/mmtv/201111080014

Can't even call a broad a broad no more.  What happened to this country

THANK YOU MICHAEL MORIARTY

The Politico-inspired loud-mouthing about Herman Cain’s apparent indiscretion – or perhaps his avuncular bonhomie toward a malevolently ambitious female – the accusations hurled at the presidential candidate have backfired!

"Avuncular bonhomie toward a malevolently ambitious female" is the most hilarious/depressing euphemism for sexual assault that I've ever heard.

Being a Michael Moriarity piece, it devolves into a nonsensical Glenn-Beck-on-one rant about "World Communism," but still.

Also "an orgy of lemmings" has to be one of the most awesome mixed metaphors ever.  Like, they're fucking each other as they're falling off a cliff?  Actually that might be an apt metaphor for Democrats

I am not being in the least bit sarcastic when I say that I love Freddy's rhymey assertions that any mockery we make of some political figure is actually a manifestation of a sixth-grade-style crush.

Yeah, I had no idea there was a debate last night (are they not publicizing these things anymore? The last couple I've only heard about after the fact) but having read about it: is there a possibility that Rick Perry has, like, some kind of cognitive handicap? I mean something medical. He's always so painful to watch/listen to in these debates, like his brain is straining to jump other hurdles besides plain ol' dumbness.

There's FIFTEEN MORE primary debates scheduled (though the last 2 or 3 could end up not happening if one of the candidates manages to clinch the race early)  There's 7 more before the first vote is cast.

The next one is on Saturday.

That is crazy, and I don't understand the point of having so many. Although I'm sure Romney doesn't mind, 'cause the cumulative effect of all the other candidates shitting the bed on live television is to make him look like the only sane man in an asylum.

It would make sense to have one or two after the voting starts, since presumably a bunch of candidates will drop out, and it would be nice to see, you know, people who might actually become president debate each other without the peanut gallery.  It's completely insane to have this many debates before Iowa, though.
