Christwire is satirical. But the pieces linked at the bottom of the article aren't.

That was hilarious, but very long. The first ten points were hilarious.

http://thinkprogress.org/lgbt/2012/01/07/399942/santorum-tells-kids-with-gay-parents-youd-be-better-off-with-parents-in-prison/
Quote
For the second time in as many days, Rick Santorum waded into the issue of gay marriage, suggesting it was so important for children to have both a father and mother that an imprisoned father was preferable to a same-sex parent.'
Citing the work of one anti-poverty expert, Santorum said, “He found that even fathers in jail who had abandoned their kids were still better than no father at all to have in their children’s lives.”
Allowing gays to marry and raise children, Santorum said, amounts to “robbing children of something they need, they deserve, they have a right to. You may rationalize that that isn’t true, but in your own life and in your own heart, you know it’s true.”
The students at Dublin School, which runs from ninth through 12th grade, were primed for Santorum’s visit, said headmaster Brad Bates. He said three students in the audience had gay parents, though they were not among those who asked about the topic.
Man, we got fucking screwed on this Santorum thing. We coulda had Bachmann, Cain, Gingrich, or Ron Paul as the main anti-Romney, all of whom are fucking hilarious! But Santorum isn't a LOLConservative, he's just a hateful motherfucker. At least there's the Dan Savage thing, but, honestly, that stopped being funny quite a while ago.

It started being funny again right around the time that "SANTORUM SURGES FROM BEHIND" became a standard headline. And when all the people who had no idea what his "google problem" was started googling him.

It is in music that the angel chorus can still reach us with undiminished force. For 99 cents you can buy a choral movement from iTunes or Amazon, performed by the best singers in the world. There are cherubs (often children) singing in every choral Mass from the Renaissance to Bach and Mozart, in the Romantics, in operas, in children's choirs, concertos and symphonies going well into the 20th century. If you like classical music you can hear angels riffing wherever a composer can slip them in.

I'm rather charmed by his reading of Hamlet, in which Truth and Justice have prevailed.
"And so Hamlet, having fought Doomsday, gave up his life so that we might live.... but which of these four new heroes is going to be the NEW Hamlet??? Steel Hamlet? Cyborg Hamlet? Young Hamlet? Or Hamlet Clone?"

I dunno about Truth, but there'll be no Justice in this world 'til we get a movie starring Shaq as Steel Hamlet.
The whole thing about classical composers going out of their way to slip in "angel riffs" is killin' me. I don't understand what that means. Also I wrote a whole series of chamber pieces in college based around devil imagery (and the dies irae, like every other composer)

We live in a secular age, cut off from our own culture. That's why it is good to recall that the art, music, architecture, and narratives of past generations were brimming with singing cherubs.
Even if I believed in brimming cherubs, that line of Horatio's he opens with is a clunker.

http://bighollywood.breitbart.com/adelgado/2012/01/09/the-top-10-conservative-lessons-of-rocky-iv/
Quote
5) Color-blind race relations are the way to go. No affirmative action style ‘token’ minority characters but rather an authentic lead in Apollo – a strong role model who simply happens to be African-American. A true patriot who shuns Leftist mentality, Apollo has no counter-productive resentment towards whites – in fact, in “Rocky III” he trains Rocky against a fellow black boxer (perfectly played by Mr. T).
Quote
8) Manliness personified. No liberal, hand-holding wimpy ideals here. Rocky knows there’s a job that has to be done and sets out to do it. “I just gotta doooo what I gotta dooooo,” he matter-of-factly tells Adrian. It’s all about duty and honor. Rocky is exactly like our soldiers – just in the boxing world instead of the military. 100 percent alpha and not a hint of beta.

11) It's fine to have Sylvester Stallone play a heavyweight champion, though he is at least one if not two weight divisions smaller, because of the weight of his convictions. You wanting something to be true not only counts as sufficient for it to be true, but also enough to change the world such that it is the truth. The same goes for Stallone's boxing ability, and that of his opponents.
