damn there's some lightbulb rage going on

first world problem: Amazon ought to call their "SuperSaver" shipping option the "Maybe when we're done fucking around for a week we'll send out your stuff even though it's in stock and wouldn't take us 2 seconds to drop it in the mail, you cheap prick" option. Not as pithy I guess.

Yeah Bill ordered the Lego Harry Potter game the day before it came out. It was released on Friday and we didn't get it until nine days later. It said it shipped out of a warehouse in NJ, where we fucking live, six days before we got it.

Oh for fuck's sake people I have emailed some of you literally every week for the last two years. You're supposed to get back to me every time.  This means you have ignored over 100 emails from me.

Also, Freddy, what the fuck magical universe do you live in where light bulbs are $1 each?

man, my roommate just left me a passive aggressive note.  i was already getting sort of annoyed with how weird she is about communicating.

the downward spiral begins.

(I'm probably just gonna say to her, hey man, don't leave notes.  just talk to me, it's not like we don't see each other every day.  if there is anything i have learned it is that note leaving is #1 in bad roommate communication).

Why in fuck did I agree to participate in the graduate student/adjunct "organization" this year? It just means that I have to go to a bunch of terrible meetings. I don't think I'll even put it on my CV.

Maybe. They're little Halogen capsule things, something like this:

The house we bought has some pretty crazy/blingy light fittings/modern chandalier things! I probably wouldn't have shelled out on them myself, but as they're here already, I've grown to love them. A bit pricey to maintain though.

Oh, yeah, I remember those things being wicked pricey. They seem to have waned in popularity over here, though. I remember when I was young we had tons of them at my house. They always seemed dangerous.

I'm staying at milesofsparks' place right now and her upstairs neighbor seems to operate on a daily cycle of

18hrs of terrible, bass-heavy house or dubstep
6hrs of sleep during which time his cellphone is on vibrate on the floor and receiving several calls and what must be dozens of text messages or emails an hour

Forgot my lunch, will have to buy something, there's little that's both healthy and affordable near the office, and I'm broke as a joke until payday.

gross. I haven't had an upstairs neighbor in ages. That is probably near impossible in new york unless you own a penthouse though Sad

My upstairs neighbors apparently rearrange their furniture every night around 11 pm. My downstairs neighbors are college kids who play very loud music at all hours. I can't tell what kind of music it is, because all I hear is lots and lots and lots of bass. I actually don't mind so much as I sleep like the dead, but it bugs the hell out of my roommate, and he stomps on the floor a lot at about midnight before he goes down and chews them out. So they hate us. Not how I would handle it, but I can't really control my roommate, with whom my relationship is only passing fair.

I am lucky enough to be up on the third (top) floor of my building, with a family occupying the first and second floors. There's more noise from traffic outside (I live on the expressway, a blockish west of the GCP/BQE split) than from downstairs neighbors. Which is a huge, huge improvement from the last place, where my housemates would seem to move furniture from 11-midnight, followed by a tickle fight from midnight to 1AM, followed by bangin from 1-1:30ish every single night.

A friend of mine has a downstairs neighbor who, when asked to turn down the music that he was playing at 2 in the morning, said "but I'm a DJ." Two days later when the same plea was made dude was all "you can't keep DOING this to me man I am an ARTIST."

I used to hate living with a musician. His room was right across the hall from mine.

I haven't had working computer speakers since before I moved, so my housemate has been spared the hours-on-end of the same sixteen measures over and over again that happens when I work on stuff.

I lived in a house with a bunch of musicians in hardcore/stoner grind bands but was never bothered by it until I lived with a girl who wrote contemperary adult acoustic rock. That was really annoying. The main annoying thing was that the bands I lived with practiced during the day so when I got home from school it was just something to listen to and go about my business with studying or whatever and when I lived with the girl she practiced after 8 or 9 every night when I would have liked to have been ~just chillin~

Speaking of apartments my next door apartment is still empty. I can't find any friends who need a place and are wiling to pay the low low price of $495/mo for a pretty spacious apartment. Do any of you precious dolls want to move to otown?
