I'm pretty bummed out because my wedding ring slipped off yesterday and I haven't been able to find it. About 90% certain it's somewhere in the house, though. Sad

I lost mine probably 9 or 10 years ago, it sucks. Never did replace it 'cause I can't really wear jewelry anyway, even gold makes me break out. I know for a fact that I lost it in the house in Quincy but we never found it, even when we cleaned hell out of that house moving out.

You have a cat though, so look where he likes to hide things.

I lost my $2,500 hearing aid about a week ago and it hasn't turned up. I haven't yet launched a full-on desperation search, but mostly because I'm afraid it won't be successful.  Sad

Sorry to hear about your wedding ring pollo. I'm terrified of losing mine, to the extent that I now wear a third ring on that finger to hold the others on...

Nice, that way if your outer ring falls of and people around are gonna be like "you dropped your ring, aren't you gonna pick it up?" and you can be all like "ssshhh, it's a decoy".

Well D's bike got stolen after about 8 months of sitting outside our apartment door unlocked. I'm about 99% sure it was someone coming or going from the upstairs neighbor's place, as they have constant traffic in and out of there and are always screaming FUCK at one another (maybe that last bit is unfair, but that's just to say my impressions of them are not very positive). Kind of a bummer, even though she only rode it half a dozen times and, y'know, didn't care enough about it to buy a lock.

check yer basket of baby laundry

But seriously, that sucks. Make sure she gets another one when Marin is old enough to be strapped in a little seat on the back of your bike or hers. I suggest this only because babies riding on bicycles are the cutest things.

Davy, any luck with the hearing aid?

Dear well meaning friend of roommate whose name I don't even know: if you feel compelled to comment on a near stranger's rapid weight loss, but realize you should start the sentence with, "It's none of my business but ..." then you're right, it's none of your business. I'll take it as a compliment but this weight loss shit is not in my control and I prefer to be in control and you made me feel mad weird, dude.

Yep! I launched the full-on Desperation Search, turning my office, then my car, then my girlfriend's apartment upside-down. No luck. My own apartment came last (because I'm rarely there). After an hour spent ransacking my place, I started putting my hands into every pocket of every article of clothing I owned. The jelly bean-sized hearing aid was in the breast pocket of a random shirt hanging in my closet.

And here's where I go on to justify never washing my clothes.

Marin's got her first cold and it's seriously bumming me out. And freaking me out a bit, when it sounds like she's having trouble breathing in her sleep. We've been sucking out her sinuses with the bulb syringe. Sad

Ugh, the bulb syringe. Hate those things. You shouldn't have to use it much longer, definitely a newborn thing.

it's a shame there isn't a more appropriate thread for the above.  "annoyed" would be the day on which every one of my dreams simultaneously came true compared to this.
