If I could just work undistracted on these revisions for a day, I could probably finish them and put them out of my mind entirely. Instead I dick around and accomplish tiny bits of piddling shit over the course of many hours every day while I screw around on the internet, passively watch TV, and listen to the radio.

alas, it has failed me today. my pattern is grade one goddamn exam, go play with new pet until i experience one full IRL lolcat moment, repeat. it is a slow, slow grind--but not without its charms.

but on the bigger picture, pollo, believe me when i say that i relate more than most probably could, just given the fairly anomalous structure of my daily life--which is not always an asset. and iggy's right--at least in my case, a change of scenery always acts as a recharge, at least temporarily. though circumstances may make that tougher in your case, admittedly.

My very positive midterm informal evaluations from my first years are mitigated somewhat by the fact that I'm so tired today that my 3rd years are going to have to cope with me pausing in tutorials while I try not to cry. Oh god I'm so tired.

I feel like I'm sorta becoming like d_p just before he left where I only post to whine about work frustrations, so apologies for that.

I work with this one other tutor who is a lot younger than me and quite competitive, and I dunno, I could be reading this wrong, but she's sort of body-shame-y? like, getting all "that's not very healthy!" when I'm eating a tiny packet of potato chips (because I haven't had time for lunch and vending machines are the only option left on campus at 5pm, okay?) or complimenting me on how it's so amazing that I don't have any wrinkles at all. It is soooo stuff that I don't want to have to deal with.

Plus side, I seem to be able to pick and choose a little what courses I want to tutor next term - I've had 2 lecturers take me aside and be like "sooo...want to tutor my class? it would be good to work with you" so I must be doing not as awfully as it feels like I'm doing.

Argh. There's too much awful shit going on in this country atm. Budget got released yesterday and it's awful (eg cutting student allowances for post grads), and activists got put in jail for unreasonably long terms. Protest for the latter (more like a vigil) wasn't even that moving but I still cried. (Also I'm dealing with some off-the-planet personal possibilities.) I need to step back a bit from the world, crush some brews, watch some awesome things.
