you ever need help MC, you just ship her to Berkeley, C.O.D.

I'm trying to teach Iris about responsibility, and I think a newborn could help.

Marin rolled off the bed yesterday! I felt terrible. She's getting more and more mobile, and it's hard to know what she's capable of. She's got a little bruise on her face today. Sad

Aw, poor mite. She'll be ok. If it really worries you, do you have a futon or can you put your mattress on the ground? (Not sure what your sleeping arrangements are.)

Sad Agreeing w/ B that she'll be OK. Think about getting one of those bed rail things that just tucks under the mattress if you're going to have her on the bed & she's getting more mobile

Alice! A beautiful name for a beautiful baby. Also my grandmother's name, she was a very sweet lady who made delicious chocolate cakes.

pollo: aw that's a scary feeling! Marin's a tough baby!

This is my family's fall prevention method, as far back as I can remember with all my cousins

Thank you for babby compliments. She gained nine ounces between Saturday and Tuesday. She's starting to get a second chin. COME ON FAT THIGHS.

It's amazing how fast they grow at first!  Just wait until she starts outgrowing her clothes.  I'll go through a bunch of old clothes at a time to store them, and just look in wonder that he ever fit in something so tiny--then I realize it's only been like a month.

Alice is a beautiful name, congrats!

EPD, our little guy has bonked himself every which way--and that includes in his crib.  Just wait until she crawls and stands and cruises--it's bonk city!

Gorgeousness of baby!!! (renders me incapable of regular speech)

'pollo, they're made of rubber, she'll be OK, but everyone else's suggestions of padding are good ones.

The cats are generally afraid of her!  Linus is much better about it than Hugo, and is fine with getting in the bed with us when she's nearby. Their saucy/bonkers behavior has been really toned down, and they're a little weirded out that we're home all the time and awake at odd hours. Bill is trying to pay extra attention to them.

WHEN ARE ALICE AND MARIN GONNA HAVE A PLAYDATE?

N.B. I would have other LPTJ babies get in on the party, but this one actually seems, like, feasible

So tmi or whatever but Alice is pooping 12-15 times a day, and her butt is raw and rashy. And now she wails when she poops. I imagine it hurts!
We don't let her sit in it. I want to switch to using flannel wipes with just water. We've been using a diaper cream and it went away for a few days, but it's back with a vengeance.. It's hard to keep the cream on when we're changing her every ten minutes.

Right now I have her naked on a towel to let it air out a bit. Any suggestions? Brands of cream? Vaseline?

We like boudreaux's butt paste but we had to supplement with formula, so fewer poops than that. Do you give her much diaper-free time? Maybe immediately after a good poop, when the chances of another poop coming are lower? Airing the area out could help. Downside, that's a lotta poops. Upside, that's a well-fed baby.
