Dude, Toronto only cares about the Maple Leafs. I'm not sure we're even aware that basketball is a sport.

OK, the whole thing where Lil B's fans decided his music was getting too angry, then posted a bunch of YouTube videos trying to get him to cheer up, is pretty fantastic

Oh, they were all in his endless tumblr/FB stream, not sure if I could find them if I wanted to. I didn't actually watch any of them, I just thought it was a cute idea.

Spaceghostpurrp and Soulja were beefing on twitter today. Narcissism of small differences bruhs

The amazing thing is, the Raptors still outdraw the 76ers.

Holy shit Drake is performing Headlines in the second intermission of the NHL All Star game. He came up on hockey!

It's kinda weird, though, since Ottawa hockey fans aren't really into Toronto, last I checked.

Man, Drake can't do the singing thing _at all_ live. He keeps switching vocal registers to make up for it or try and find the right sound or something, and it's hilarious. That's pretty much the only distinctive thing about his style.

Also they wrapped up Headlines with a drum solo and electric guitars for some reason.

sat around listening to a lot of jay electronica songs today. curious how y'all feel about him?

i used to be more jaded about him perpetually delaying his releases. maybe i've gotten even more jaded now that i feel like it's okay with me if he releases his album in 6 years or whenever.

rap is impossible to keep up with.

It really is. Every night, I probably skim through 100+ posts on my RSS from a half dozen different hip hop blogs (each with a slightly different focus) and I still end up late to the party w/r/t a lot of underground stuff.

Using the new Die Antwoord as crack head workout music.

OH! And this new Dizzee Rascal mixtape is the fucking real deal. No more of the horrible shit he'd been making for the past half decade.

Liking The Weeknd really isn't the same as liking Drake. The Weeknd is willfully sculpting a specific persona, and a somewhat uncomfortable one at that, far removing him from the usual "nothing at stake" criticisms of Drizzy. And he's a much better singer.

I'm a big fan of Jay Elect, though admittedly I've always had a perhaps slightly unhealthy soft spot for lyrical miracles. I enjoy how he liberally uses religious and historical imagery, but almost exclusively reappropriates it to glorify his own prophetic stature a la Nas or Rakim. I've given up on keeping up with his output or waiting for a full-lehgth, though; I figure I'll just hear about it after it happens.

Jay Electronica dropped a couple good songs, and chances are he'll never do anything interesting ever again.
