ok ok so looking through his twitter confirms that he was indeed an english teacher until he gave it up recently for the poetry thing. he never taught that blizzard kid though.

the video remains cool.

Yeah, it's good. It's just clearly not a pupil and his teacher having a rap battle - that's just the kid's first punchline!

Today is Candlemas, right? Wonder if the blessing of the candles (i.e., flames) has anything to do with White Flame.

I'm going to say yes.

This White Flame mixtape is so epic because everybody knows I'm Jesus Christ

so, there is like this british battle rap thing called 'don't flop' and it's mostly unintentionally hilarious. however, this is a video of a mouthy youth getting 'murked' by his ENGLISH TEACHER.

haha so cute

Got White Flame today and it seems pretty solid so far. I love how 'Fed Time' is basically just Lil B "rapping" over ' I Would Die 4 U'. Some of these beats are fucking great.

Yeah, I liked that too. I think "Surrender to Me" is my favorite musically - I just wish the rap wasn't drowned out by the sample so much.

Forget which track it was, but I also distinctly heard Lil B calling out Antero:

Public defender ain't public defending shit

For a Messiah, I thought that was kinda low. I mean, Antero's only been practicing for like 6 months!

God, I just listened to this and it is fucking awful. Like most of Lil B's shit it sounds like he has recorded himself rapping over a sample playing on a boombox in the bathroom or something.

I've tried to like him but i'm calling bullshit here. You guys are all fucking around. It's an elaborate joke.

I similarly did not have a very high opinion of White Flame

you begin to see why people who like the gandalfs might also like this, perhaps...

I guess that's true.  I like his bit on "Hello Good Morning".  I want an album though, Paper Trail could lose half the songs on it.

I have to say, "Stand Up Guy" is absolutely my shit.  I love that song.

I am not really a Gucci Mane guy but "Quiet" is tight.  I don't recall ever hearing him actually emote before.

For example, the guy who did the beat to "Gotta Have It" - why is he not famous?

Not to drag things back to Lil B, but he just jumped on the beat from David Banner's awkward and preachy "Swag" and murdered the fuck out of it.  What's nuts is that I've listened to hundreds of Lil B tracks and this is the first time I've heard him actually drop a straight on-the-beat flow, which is a weird reminder that everything about his aesthetic is entirely intentional.

Anyhow, The B. Coming!  I listened to that a lot driving around downtown LA.  I'd say it's better than The Blueprint, really.  The beats alone require some serious thought.

"Feel It In The Air" started off as a Black Rob track called "Permanent Scars", which is good but not as good.  Produced by Heavy D, which I never realized until Heavy D died.
