They were hitting people's PayPal accounts in increments of $150.00 to buy the points then selling them elsewhere.

We need to reform team dagger. I bought that batman imposter game a week ago and it was kinda like team fortress, kinda. Not as good, not nearly as good, but it has some zip. Some zappity zip. I can see that game becoming a 'thing'. Maybe. I also got that Kane and Lynch. I know everybody is jonsin to have a reason to pick it up. But there's a multiplayer where you are all robbers and you work together to escape the cops but the point is finding an advantageous point to put the smack down on your friends and keep all the money. I mean... that's what I'm about these days. CRIMINAL SHIT. I'm into that zap. That zip. That zappity zip.

Kane and Lynch is like free n shit. You just go into a dirty old public bathroom and start masturbating into a urinal and some dude with a stash and board shorts shows up and hands you a used copy of kane and lynch 2. That's how I got it. That's how my dad got the game too.

the SSX demo is real cool

also i bought this album by The Naked And Famous because of the song in the demo, so thats cool too i guess. theyre pretty good, if you like fey 80s styled pop from new zealand. shows how much i pay attention to music any more that EA games are turning me onto bands.

link to the song in question, but really you should probably grab the SSX demo what with it being rad

The Naked and Famous are quite good - I especially like their first EP 'This Machine'. They sound more like an American band than a Kiwi one, but the best of luck to them regardless.

Naked and Famous is also a very popular jeans manufacturer. They're Canadian.

I quite liked Dragon Age but as with so many other RPGs I put 50-60 hours into and then completely lost interest. Fought the last boss three times and lost each time, figured that the ending cutscenes weren't really worth it anyway and said fuck it. I have a hard time maintaining interest in video games. Didn't even finish New Vegas.

I also think Dave is right on w/r/t the combat. I found myself constantly adjusting the combat difficulty to either provide a bit of a challenge or because I was sick of fighting the same battle over and over and over again.

Oh, but that last fight really did suck. Just the right mixture of fucking difficult and dreadfully boring, can't really blame you for quitting at all. S took over from me and I think he finally won the battle on maybe the fourth try or so (and yes, that was on casual level). The cutscenes and smalltalk at the end were decidely not worth it.

Also, it was getting pretty late when we were playing last night, and I kind of wanted to keep the last battle for the next day but S insisted it wasn't really worth it to stop now. Then it took much longer than expected, so it was really well past my bedtime when we finally went to bed. I feel fucking hungover today, just from playing videogames.

So Assassin's Creed III is going to take place in North America in the mid-late 1700s, you're gonna be running around slaying redcoats with a tomahawk, and it's being made by a bunch of Quebecois? Is the player character gonna, like, personally get to kill James Wolfe?

I bought SFxT, having decided I don't care as much about money and principles as I care about punching dudes in the face. First dudes I try will be Rufus and Poison. I'll probably drop Poison almost immediately.

There is going to be so much DLC for this game so beware what you're getting yourself into if you buy it*. It will almost certainly also be an awesome time, though.

*I like how the special edition comes with a moneybox - to save pennies for buying the extra characters?

New deets on Assassin's Creed III, First Trailer:
http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/05/assassins-creed-3-headed-to-wii-u-first-trailer-released/

Quote
Assassin's Creed's protagonist is named Ratohnhaké:ton and is "of Native American and English heritage." He has also adopted the name Connor, much to the relief of copy editors everywhere.

As reported, the game does take place during the American Revolution and "spans the Revolutionary War, taking gamers from the vibrant, untamed frontier to bustling colonial towns and the intense, chaotic battlefields where George Washington's Continental Army clashed with the imposing British Army."

Preposterous. Love it!

Also, SFxT is really fun, but also hilariously bug-ridden. Co-op ranked matches are basically the best invention since online play. Even losing to terrible players is fun when your friend is sitting there berating you for not tagging him in.

I knew something was going on in the last week or so but I wasn't expecting this. What's happening to tested.com is even crazier. Weird times.

I'm wondering about their talk about packing up the office in the week leading up to this, etc. My guess (and it's a guess) is that the venture capitalist that owned their parent company decided it was time to cash out, since they had been receiving attention from a number of larger, more established players, and this was the consequence. Either that, or they genuinely ran out of money and this was the logical step to take (going to Gamespot or somewhere else).
