Intriguing idea... I am pretty sure that thing is on the PlayStation Network store. Dunno anything about your problem, though, sorry.

I was considering buying an old PSX on craigslist or something, but this seemed much simpler.

the giantbomb dudes talked about it a lot the past couple weeks. their recommendation boiled down to "ignore all the side missions and the game is great". it looks real neat but im still totally buried in skyrim, and i think once thats done im not going to want any kind of epic fantasy anything for a while. im 90 hours deep and im not even close to being done with anything heh.

No shame required, boss! Sorry I didn't see your query earlier.

This link: http://www.emuasylum.com/index.php?page=emulators&system=Sony%20Playstation

Has pretty much everything you need. It's not all self-explanatory, but it's pretty close. Grab ePSXe 1.7. You'll also need a Playstation BIOS (there's a link to a pack of them there) and a GPU plugin pack appropriate to your graphics card (again, there's a link right on that page). Install ePSXe, and during the installation process you'll need to point the program to the appropriate BIOS and GPU files for your system, so unpack them and put them into the correct directory ahead of time. That's pretty much it! It was totally painless on my ~5yr old XP media center box. ROMs can be found on any torrent site.

Man, awesome, thanks! I'll see if my little Lenovo netbook can handle it, if not I might try the mac version of PCSX. Playing PE again would be fantastic, and it occurred to me I could also replay Suikoden and actually finish Suikoden II. So I'm HYPED.

x-post Chet I got your message about that, that sounds fun! And possibly a good reason to turn on my Xbox for the first time in two weeks

I share a house with an xbox as of 10 days ago. I actually started playing Dragon Age a few days ago and am - gasp! - liking it.

I'd played one of the origins stories before, and liked it at the time, but had no real interest in playing the rest of the game. Started playing again on a whim, and am actually enjoying the rest of the game so far quite a bit, too. I mean, the fighting doesn't interest me much (but it's easy to sort of ignore on casual level), and I hand over the controller to the actual owner of the Xbox for the more RPG-y elements, but I;ve actually become quite invested in the story/characters.

But that's not a very popular game on LPTJ, is it?

I liked it quite a bit! Pretty Bioware-by-the-numbers, but the story and characters were fun. DA2 kinda sucks ass, though. I'm pretty excited for a proper sequel.

Which NPC are you gonna bone?

Dragon Age was flawed but still very good.  You might get a skewed view of our opinions about rpgs on here because we complain about the little annoying things but ultimately I spent like 60 hours of my life playing that game and i dont regret it so you can draw your own conclusion.

na, i dont see much point in getting both a ps3 and a 360. i dont have enough time to play all the games i want to play on the one system already.

also i played a ton of dragon age and ended up disliking it a lot. i didnt bother finishing it, and i was literally right at the end.

also the daedric quests in skyrim are pretty cool.

Yeah that's been my reasoning for not buying a PS3, but I'm definitely going to get one for Starhawk. And I'll probably wanna play The Last of Us when it comes out.

Yeah, pretty much this. What did you think of DA2, Dick? It's a frustrating game, because the structural innovations are really cool and interesting on paper, but suuuuuuper repetitive and annoying in practice. The Quanari are cool as shit, though.

I was scared off of it by the pile on plus I don't really get that much time to play games anymore. I haven't touched skyrim in a month.
