My bad, read this as a best of 11 thread instead of a new one

A few that I liked then...
Machinefabriek and co - Bridges 4xCD set
Lawrence English - The Peregrine
Part Wild Horses Mane On Both Sides - Low Fired Clay Escape
and one inexplicably terrible sleeve, for an excellent record:
Bruno Pronsato - Lovers Do

That's terrible. Straight-up text as a part of a visual design is always a bad idea - look at how it drives a wedge between the elements of the design, making you always look either at the writing or at the picture. Might as well put the two side by side on separate pages and give up the conceit that it's a single composition.

will say that i preferred it as a tiny thumbnail but i find the juxtaposition interesting as much as it's completely dissonant

GI, it's not so much your critical eye as your I'm-an-expert style that makes you a little bit of a downer from time to time.
BAoH, your enthusiasm for aesthetic forms which I cannot even consider as a like, thing to rate continues to amaze me. I was a dick to you, and I'm sorry, but I think I'm on the other side of the hill now. You are my joyful brad, like the way you look at stuff.

Where did that come from?
I really don't get that response, Iggy. I didn't say you should believe that it sucks because I said so. I said it sucks because of the reason it sucks. You think I'm wrong? Tell me I'm wrong. But don't tell me I'm a dick because I try to give the reasons for the things I say. The reason isn't supposed to be that I'm an expert. The reason is supposed to be the thing we're both looking at.

Well I am sure that I didn't say you were a dick, but I guess I messed up and I'll leave it right there. Sorry.

Sorry, it's something I'm perhaps sensitive about, what with 'do our interactions here matter?' and The Wheel of GI and all that - people accusing me of acting like what they say doesn't matter because I think I'm smarter than them. That's something I'd rather chew my own arm off than be guilty of, but it comes up again and again.
Acting like someone's opinions doesn't matter because the opinions are wrong, well, that's a different matter.

I didn't read it that way, but just from a discourse point of view, we Brits tend to use a lot more 'softeners' when conveying critical or negative ideas, and perhaps acknowledge our interlocutor's point of view a bit more, or the possibility that our own may be prejudiced or flawed. I just think you are super-direct and clear-minded, and as a result sometimes the posts come across to people as superiordismissivewhatever.

I'm not going to pretend there's such a thing as objectively bad album art but if there were I'm pretty sure that would be its epitome.
