Codeine - When I See the Sun. Not a new album, but definitely a new release. Numero group are bundling their discography in a spectacular box set.

It's just that the other cover is kind of the coolest one ever:
And it started life as a bootleg (a little shorter, mixed different), called 'Jerusalem' with a couple of covers of its own.

Oh, I know... the album mythos looms so large that it needs multiple awesome covers. I really like the horseman one you posted, GI. I think this latest one is so evocative of the song's narrative though.
At any rate, I spent 63 minutes listening to the latest mix of Dopesmoker today and I'm glad I did.

Oh, for sure, if you're going to have four different covers for one album, that's the album to have them for.

Firstly that is a cool story. Does the new mix differ much from the original release of Dopesmoker? That was a clear improvement upon Jerusalem. I struggle to see how it could be much better. But I'm open to the idea of course and will likely buy it anyway.

I concur with narlus. I don't know if I'd' say you have to go and buy the updated version, but I do think it sounds better.
I don't know what I mean by better. I guess heavier, the individual parts more distinct.

The solo release of the main songwriter for Travel By Sea, who probably nobody here is very familiar with. Their 2006 debut album,
Shadows Rise
remains a favorite of mine, and they've released a lot of good songs since then, though in my opinion they haven't quite been able to put together a great album since that debut.

My PAN records fixation recently brought to my attention the name Jason Lescalleet, after I came across his noisy, longform "Grapes And Snakes" collaboration with Wolf Eyes' Aaron Dilloway. Anyway, here's Lescalleet's latest album, "Songs About Nothing".
Jason Lescalleet - Songs About Nothing (
Erstwhile Records
)
The track titles also reference the original album: The Beauty Of Independent Music ; Old Theme ; Tarnished Copper (Copper Will Never Be Gold); The Loop; Euphoric Sting; Beauty Is A Bowtie (HTDW), The Power Of Pussy, Escargot, In The Morning, In The Winter Shade, On The First Of March, On The Holiday; Friday Night In A Catholic Home, 10 Amp Waves, I Killed Another Day; In Through The Out Door And Another Whore.
It's a weird album, all over the place tape manipulations, samples, loops, noise - interesting.

I'm not as deep into this stuff as some of you dudes are, but this fine album cover made me check out Loscil, who I have learned are a pleasant and interesting minimal techno thing from Vancouver.
Quote
This album gets its name from an odd little ocean side park that borders industry and the Vancouver port authority and lays claim to being the birthplace of the city. In a way, Sketches from New Brighton is a continuation of a dialogue with my environment that started with First Narrows (Kranky 2004) and continued with the Strathcona Variations EP (Ghostly International 2009). It is not a rigorous 'study' per se, but more a series of sketches, loose interpretations of the spaces I inhabit as well as an acknowledgement of their influence on my practice. These are my impressions, a kind of sketch of New Brighton and the surrounding area in an abstract form.'
