Amazingly, I only just learned that Carrie Brownstein and Portlandia are one & the same. Not sure how I feel about that. Haven't seen the series yet, but wasn't planning to, either.

Haha, reminds me of when I went to see Wild Flag with my friend Thomas (not a Sleater-Kinney fan) last year, and as soon as they took the stage, he exclaimed "Hey, that's the girl from Portlandia!" And he was immediately more interested.

Loving Megafaun today. Just heard their 2010 EP, Heretofore, for the first time (it's on spotify) and immediately bought myself a copy online. Yellow vinyl!

Gonna finally get around to buying their excellent 2011 album, too.

I'm undecided. It just arrived in the mail today so I've only listened to the first track on side one. But I liked what I heard. There's a definite hippy feel which is unsurprising considering the Vibracathedral Orchestra (who I like) links. It'll need a few plays but I'll keep you posted.

Your mention of Δkkord in the upcoming releases thread has me playing that first record again. So damn good!

I've been listening to a lot of Thomas Jefferson Slave Apartments after seeing them last Saturday. Also been exhausting this Deep Freeze Mice song in the aftermath of the Wisconsin Scott Walker recall win.

Jeb/anyone else familiar with Wisconsin music, are bands out there writing anti-Walker songs?

I continue to be surprised (for 8 years or so) by how good The Cure's self-titled album is, especially since I hated 'Bloodflowers'. I probably should listen to that again some time and see if my opinion of it has changed in the past decade.
