Man, only one i own (gandalfs), and two others i've listened to (wild flag and destroyer). My taste is clearly misaligned with the lptj massive.

I need to be sure to listen to way more metal in 2012 though.

I'm considering liveblogging it again, but my softening taste, and my increasing indifference to and ignorance of all new music, might have dulled my edge.

Moritz Von Oswald Trio sneaking in there means two of mine made the list (the other was Zomby), which may be my best showing yet.

Huh! Surprised to see Gillian that high.
Also I didn't realize that Kurt Vile record was from this year; I probably listened to that 50 times.

That Kurt Vile record is a breezy listen with some real winners on it, but it tends to get a bit samey if ye ask me.

And Tim Hecker was #21 (missed the top 20 by a half a point), and Grouper was #23.

Interesting!
But really, when you guys all hear Nicolas Jaar, you're going to feel so stupid that you didn't put it on your lists.
Thanks for the supreme tallying, blucas.

Was
I'm Gay
the only Lil B record to tally in the top 20, or did you have a rule against multiple releases by one artist?

Nah, Silent President was #25, BasedGodVelli was #41, and Bitch Mob was #58. If all of BasedGod's votes had been consolidated behind one release, it would've been #1, and by a pretty fair margin. (edit: though I guess that doesn't make any sense, since some people voted for more than one. I'd have to go back and look at the individual lists.)

Blucas! You picked the worst song from the Kate Bush record! Great job, otherwise.

Yeah totally. Smoke Ring, Constant Hitmaker and Childish Prodigy are all a *little* samey, but I quite like all of them.

I'm already aware that the Middle Brother record should've been at least a top-15 pick. Oh well. Can't be on time to every party.

All this love for Kurt Vile - deserved, I agree - but was I the only one to put The War on Drugs on my list? OK, I'll look. And the answer is no! Two other people included that, too.
At any rate, pollo and Chet et al, I recommend checking out/re-listening to Kurt's old band for more of the samey same!
