I really like Stone's Cali-Belgie IPA, though I don't know if I'd call it "best".  I'm not sure which I'd choose for the superlative IPA!

I'd probably say Pliny The Elder.  That's double though.

1) I'd go with Bell's Two Hearted or Bear Republic Racer 5

2) If you mean Californian/American IPAs there are a lot of SoCal beers that exemplify that style really well, Stone Ruination and Racer 5 and Green Flash IPA being some notable ones.

Yeah Pliny is definitely not what comes to mind when someone asks for an IPA recommendation.

I don't necessarily. I'm up to hear about all types of IPAs (but mostly hella hoppy IPAs)

Racer 5 and Two-hearted are pretty much exactly what I want in an IPA.
The hoppiest thing I've ever had is Hopslam, but good luck finding some now.

Yeah, I mean apart from my local which probably still has a 6er or two. But the hoppiness of a hopslam dies down quickly and it's more malty than anything after a couple of months.

I don't want to start a whole Thing here, but man, the couple of times that I've had Hopslam, I've been kind of underwhelmed. I mean, it's hoppy and all, but I feel like there are quite a few beers out there that are on par. Am I missing something? Does someone want to send me a few cases of it so that I can get an adequate sample size?
