Marin has a thread now, right? Is it okay to get back to randomness here?

I am tempted to post the words to my nation's anthem, as it's very silly.

oh man, you know that thing that happens sometimes when you yawn and a fine stream of saliva will squirt out of your mouth?

i thought that like only happened to me, and like maybe it was something to do with my teeth because it always seemed like it came from my teeth. i thought maybe my teeth were messed up which was causing a build up of pressure and eventually it would cause saliva to expell from between my teeth. LOL @ ME.

it's just gleeking, isn't it?

Hey, I never knew there was a name for that. That second paragraph is totally me. I can't always do it on demand, but sometimes. It's fun.

Ahh! Gleeking was one of the worst things in middle school aside from having to be in middle school. Boys would do it all the time it was so gross. If I were 13 and someone did that to me I would have said " eeew, that's a chop!"

We used to call it 'leeching', and it was all the rage in our equivalent of middle school.

I think I'm starting to like kids and want to spend more time around them helping them make stuff and stuff?

I feel like interacting with kids would really improve my outlook on life.

I've never felt this way before!

Are there any art camps or after school programs you could work or volunteer at? Kids are great and it is really fun and rewarding to teach and play with them. Do it! They'll love you.

Little Sugar Creek is a troubled waterway in my hometown that the city's spent lots of money rehabilitating over the past twenty or so years. Turns out Occupy Charlotte has been pissing and shitting in it since October.

Quote
The Fire Department's hazardous materials team was called out to the Occupy Charlotte site Tuesday, after police discovered that protesters were apparently using a storm drain as a bathroom.

According to sources, the storm drain on the lawn of old City Hall empties into Little Sugar Creek. City officials were trying to figure out the most effective and environmentally friendly way to clean up the mess. It's unclear if police will be able to charge anyone with a crime.

That's pretty stupid. I'm constantly amazed that people don't understand that anything you put on the ground will wind up in rivers, lakes or streams. But when it comes to a storm drain the connection should be pretty obvious.

That said, you'd be surprised how much untreated shit is everywhere. Up in NY, outdated sewage/stormwater systems dump millions of gallons of untreated sewage into the watershed as often as it rains pretty hard.

This is really awful, but in St John's the just pump sewage out of a pipe in a cliff into the ocean, or right into the harbour.  They've been building a water treatment plant for a few years now, it involves taking out the side of a cliff so it's taking a while.

We call it The Bubble.  There's a sign down by the harbour that has an infographic of a man sitting on the toilet and the pipe system that goes out of his house, through the ground and into the harbour.

The birds like it.
