Also better than my previous roommate who used to drink my vodka and sit on my floor crying about her ex boyfriend for hours and wouldn't do her dishes and wanted to eat dinner together every sunday.

Looking for apartments is really weird.  Especially when you're looking for a room in an apartment.  I emailed guy who has a clean, cheap place in an interesting area (I really like the place) and asked if cats were okay.  And he sent me this

He called me tonight at 11:40 PM to tell me the cat was okay but he had to take a few days to imagine living with a cat.  He talked for 40 minutes about a lot of apartment related stuff.  His son (19) also lives there, but he just moved in recently.

I liked him!  He seems nice and considerate not remotely creepy (but a little weird).   Should I live with an old stoner dude and his son?  

edit: I'm going to look at the place on friday.

he bailed when i went to look at it before, but he called me again and left a message apologizing.  so I called back.  i think he wants to live with a spanish speaking person who will play music with him and his son and have kitchen parties and be a bit like a part of the family and he'd rather wait until someone who fits that criteria rolls around.

I mean, he bailed, and that was pretty shitty.  But it's $200 cheaper than this other place I'm looking at and maybe I want to be adopted by a strange spanish man.

edit: I guess I should probably live in the place that I have no wacky stories to tell about, despite it being more expensive.

He reminds me of a woman who was going to teach me to make hats.  I walked into her boutique, and she looked at me, and she said "do you want to learn to make hats?" and I said "yes I guess I do!" and she wrote down my name and number and called me a month later.  She was from quebec and she was missing several teeth.  She wanted $300 for three months of hat making lessons, with real felting and real antique hat molds.  So I showed up with another woman who owned and organic farm and was going to teach me to knit.  And we had tea and talked about hats.  But then we drove around to thrift stores looking for felt and she spent the whole time looking at old wedding dresses and we (the other woman and I) decided she didn't know what she was doing and we couldn't really afford $300 to be friends.  I'm going to name my next cat after her.  (Her name is Lila).
