I almost gave myself a buzzcut on Saturday. I was saved by a cocktail of apathy and inertia.

I know I don't have to tell you to cultivate indifference

I just involuntarily lifted my hand to try and touch your head through the screen. It looks great.

If I know my usual post-head-shave self, I'll be doing enough head-touching for the both of us.  I'd been meaning to do it for a while.  Since 2003 or so, I've had about three at-a-place haircuts (and one was from "long" to "about 95% as long"), and the rest has been the cycle of grow-it-out and cut-it-all-off-at-once.

Damn jammer that is intense. I remember how good that feels, though. If you had the opportunity to ride around in a car with the windows down right now I'd recommend that because it feels even better and all tickly across the temples

Such a great feeling.

I miss your beard though.

Oh yeah!  I ordered the circle-glasses from zenni about a week ago.  I just need some tight clothes and that's like half the fee at the Whitney.

jm, you look great! I wanna rub your head, too!

I, on the other hand, will be sporting some brand new but un-fucking-believably ugly real live athletic shoes with everything I wear for the foreseeable future owing to a totally awesome case of plantar fasciitis that I apparently got from logging a zillion miles a day in my low-pro hipster shoes.

I guess the shoes are not really that horrendous as athletic shoes go; I just think most athletic shoes are kinda yucky. Eh.

Hello,
this is my first post, after having made an account long ago because Peacocks raves about all of you to me!
She showed me this thread the other week and I thought it was cute.
I am at the moment, sitting on Peacocks couch, touching her cat Muna, and making sure she doesn't starve.   ( I am cat sitting) and while i am not wearing anything impressive right now, an  oversized hand me down grey Descendents shirt and big old lady spandex high waisted underwear, I am very proud of my Valentine's night outfit.  I went to a show with my roommates at the bar around the corner, The Togas played. It was a 50s/60s cover song themed prom dance valentine's so i dressed accordingly I think.

What i'm wearing: Yellow square dancing skirt with petticoat underneath, white eyelet button up blouse, green steve madden flats, vintage bra that made my boobs the right amount of pointy, and red lipstick to top it all off.

What went right: I felt like a great looking person, I love big frilly skirts, I had tons of fun and slow danced with my friend Dylan at a point when people were urged to slow dance. Thank god, cause I'm super awkward and standing alone would've been more awkward than my dancing.

What went wrong: I didn't say " Hello, I'm so glad you are here. I love everything you do" before King Khan left the venue after his surprise appearance. I went to sleep in my twin bed with a cat.  hahaha

Thanks guys!  Cool
Theres no real name using on here is there?  Or is there? haha
I'm going to start calling peacocks... peacocks in real life.
My real life nickname is Adro though, that'll be easy.
(Miss you, btw, your cat does too.)

I said real life twice now, three times, I've never taken part in
an online forum of friends and conversation. Seems like just
the right amount of extra stimulation I need in life right now.

There's real name stuff for some people, varyingly. Usually those with their real name in their username (eg me, Jeb, Grace (G.C.R., my big sister)). Someone like Thermo, on the other hand, is always Thermo and although I know your real name I still shan't believe you have one. Also peacocks is always peacocks, like I type in 'pe' on Facebook before I remember your real name.

1) Thanks everybody!
2) Welcome, Adro!
2a) Awesome outfit, Adro!
3) I love the name Chet.  I actually have wondered why you picked the name Chet (as it's not your actual name)

Adro!  Welcome! I miss you and muna too! I actually had a dream this morning that we took her to the beach and left her for a while in this little tent and she escaped because she was bored and we looked everywhere for her and finally she came back and cuddled with me forever. Then we watched a video tape of the lost lonely boys (?haha) cover the beach boys but it was actually nirvana they were covering.

I love that outfit, wish I hadn't fallen asleep so early. My one valentines regret.

IAN: OK

I am wearing red flannel man pajamas that were on my twin bed in the guest room at my gramma's house. I may get my ears pierced while I'm up here OR as soon as I come back.

A lot of people used to call me Biggins in real life.  Almost EVERYBODY called me Roy for about 6 years.  There are still scattered people in my hometown who don't know my real name.  Now, LPTJ is the largest concentration who would tend to use that one.

Pork Roll, I had no idea that was your real name.  I do always associate Ian with Jim's youngest.

Adro, welcome!  I can't see that photo because of the stringent filters on my work computer, but the outfit sounds lovely.

Hi, Adro!  Welcome!

The best real name thing was when we found out that andronicus's real name was Richard and I started calling him Dick because he, like that name, has a Classical American Appeal, and then he signed up with the name Dick.
