they have a trashy short/tight dress in the same print i gave a second look at, and in the same cut a skeleton print that would be pretty much perfect for the next dayglo abortions show (or whatever other punk band) but that is sadly already sold-out forever.

greg: that silk shirt! haha... with linen pants, dharma beads and an urban turban it could make you look like one of those yoga guru womanizer types who have a different barely legal girlfriend whenever you see them. sexy, greasy-like.

our beards grow in an eerily similar pattern. we both have those two bald spots either side of the 'soul patch' bit of hair.

very swag get up by the way.

Today I bought a red cotton poplin dress with cap sleeves, little buttons down the bodice, and a sash that ties in the back. It's waaay too short because I bought it at a normal-person store so I will have to wear leggings or tights with it, but when I tried it on the friend I was shopping with told me it was so adorable when worn that he would never let me hear the end of it if I didn't snag it. I think I'll wear it with a cute cardigan on Monday when it's supposed to be 66 degrees and sunny here and see if I get anybody's number (ha).

That sounds super-cute Em. I hope you can post pics of it some time soon.

I'm having trouble with my wardrobe, and I don't know what to wear ever...so I end up in jeans or the same two skirts again...

I went to Goodwill with a friend last night and found this dress on the regular-dress rack made by a maternity clothing company. It is sleeveless, black-and-white polka dot, sort of like the Seven Year Itch dress, empire waisted. My friend is my Clothes Guru these days and when I was skeptical she said all maternity clothes are just more forgiving in the chest area, fucking try it on. (Anyone who has met me is aware of the fact that I am somewhat Endowed.) I am torn between feeling strange about the fact that I am so endowed that I have to wear maternity clothes and not caring because if the dress looks good it looks good. And it looks good, dammit.

My wife is also, er, endowed, and still wears a couple of her maternity outfits for the same reason. If it looks good, wear it!  Cool

I think the thing I am bugging about is I have never been pregnant. The part of me that has not accepted the fact that I got curves and has not retrained itself to stop hissing FAT every time I look at myself in the mirror is rejoicing in the fact that I am so gigantic that I must wear the clothing of my pregnant brethren, er, sistheren, even though logically this is bullshit.

This is a battle that's been going on for years. I am incredibly tired from fighting it.

It totally sucks, that little part. I do the hissing thing too, for as long as I can remember. Also "grooosssss" when I look at my face. Someone told me to say nice things out loud every time I look in the mirror in the morning to re-train myself, but if feels so wrong and hokey.

Love yer bodies, girrrrls.

Last night I tried to trim my bangs myself.

It was not a good decision.

The other day I met someone who cut their hair because they were frustrated about an essay they were writing.  This is something I'm also prone to doing that I felt like not many people were able to identify with.  Kindred spirits!

Thanks to exercise, I can now wear my Burberry again!

Although I realize that's a pretty poor picture. You'll just have to trust me that it's gangster

I'm wearing maternity clothes for maternity reasons and already planning on continuing to wear them well afterward because of how awesome they are. There is probably some shame to be associated with the stretchy top bits of these leggings, but I don't care.

Every time I come in with a new dress, one of my coworkers is like "Oooooh where's that one from?" "Target, but it's maternity!" "Doesn't matter." and she goes and tries them on. More places need to have bright and springy dresses I can wear. It's been in the 60s and 70s here and I'm already hating every minute, but almost everything I can find in stores is dark, sunlight-absorbing colors.
