Adorbz!! Our pediatrician told us to wear the kid facing inward -- is that a real thing? This is the same pediatrician who told me I was too thin and had me eating 2500 cal a day at one point.

Yeah I've heard it's a good idea so they can snuggle the adult, be surrounded by a familiar smell, keep warm(?) etc.

I've heard the opposite view attested as well. It seems, from the outside, like the type of thing people build very passionate opinions on on the basis of nothing whatsoever.

I could write an essay on this topic, but I don't want all your eyes to glaze over...the short version is, if M is happy and pollo is comfortable, go for it. If either of you get wigged out, turn her back in towards you. You probably won't be able to carry her for more than a few more months in that style of carrier. If you want more info, hit me up, and I'll try not to make your eyes glaze over.

Nick - what sort of carrier did you use? Back carrying is by far my preferred method. I still have a couple in the car that I use for Erik sometimes, but they're getting a bit small for him :-(

We were in Korea at the time, and I must say I have no idea what the brand name was. The Korean word is something like "aggi-di", and they can be worn on the back or on the front. When we had it on the front, by the way, we always used to have her facing inwards.

Mrs Ink usually just used a kind of shawl-type piece of material, and just wound it around, but I was never brave enough to trust my tying skills with that.

Was it a rectangle with two long straps on the top? Or more like a vest that you put on? the first is a 'podaegi', the second I only know as 'chunei', and I've never used one of them - hard to find here...

Ah! How do you do all that while holding the kid up at the same time? I imagine you start out lying on top of the kid and then when you are done tying you get up and hopefully he stays on. I can't even tie a towel around my body and have it stay up. The more I read about babies the scarier they get. Even though they are totally cute and I get "mommy eyes" whenever I am around one.
