yeah! you're looking very sharp there chicken of the devil.
I wore some of my maternity roll-top pants until they died, but I'm not comfortable wearing maternity tops these days, as my tummy is the fattest part of me, so I still look 6 mths pregnant if I wear anything vaguely maternity-like. I am definitely in the 'apple' or 'upside-down triangle' shaped category, so empire waisted stuff has never worked for me. I saw a collection of mannequins in the mall the other day, one in each of the standard body shapes, and interestingly, the 'apple' one was the one that caught my eye first - it had a full calf length micro-pleated skirt, and a fitted jacket that flared at the hips, and I just though "YES! I want to wear that!" now to make it happen...

Brooks Bros is having a spring sale right now. $69 for 3 ties. That is a hell of a good deal if you are in the market for even one tie

Today I wore my favorite red button up short short sleeve shirt, aka one of my "female Bruce Springsteen would totally wear this shirt" shirt, and a pair of light blue, men's (weirdly stretchy but perfectly faided) LL bean jeans i thrifted with sandals and red lippy.
I kinda want to figure out what i'm going to wear tomorrow right now, but I also should go to sleep. Does anyone else set aside clothes to wear the next day the night before? If so how often do you end up wearing something different? If I pick it the night before, I usually am happy with it the next morning.
....Actually I just remembered I put this on after I showered in the early evening, after having worn something completely different all day when I went out and I didn't leave the house or have visitors!
wearing the saaammee thing tomorrow!

this sounds great!
meanwhile, I've mended my pants so many times pretty soon I think they'll be whole new pants. I swear my bicycle seat has teeth or something.

Same. Sometimes, and if I do, I don't usually change my mind, as long as I checked the weather forecast the night before :-)

Win! Not having to wash an extra outfit is a bonus in my book too.

Can't wait to see it! I never know what I'm going to where even minutes before I get dressed. I'm one of those try on a million things and fret in the mirror before finally saying "ok, you have to leave the house now. This is as good as its gonna get" most of my pants have holes in them now from work or my bike. I'm also still too attached to sweaters from thinking it was ever going to be cold here. I need to thrift.

Lately, if I wear anything on either weekend day, it's usually not for long (someone's visiting, we go out for lunch), and as soon as I don't have to wear real clothes I change into stretchy, pajama-ish things, and set aside whatever I was wearing for a re-wear on Monday.
I did that yesterday! But it turns out I'm just wearing the same tshirt instead of the whole outfit. I have the sweater with me, but I switched to jeans I like better.
It's cool out, so I thought today would be a small reprieve from the heat, and that I should wear my tall boots again.. NO. It's 79 in my office.

I wore this getup to a charity hold 'em tournament last week:
Grey stripes in tie match blazer, white stripes match the shirt, reddish-brown stripes kinda match my belt and the shoes I was wearing. Or something. I dunno, I don't usually consciously color-coordinate ties like that, I'm just a simple t-shirt-and-jeans dude from the destitute and gothic South.

I feel like a hat salesman in this thread but have been a huge fan of Shady Lane cowboy hats since I was singled out for wearing one, when one of the guys at a meditation workshop said they used to VIP anybody wearing one at airport security. Thermofusion: you're looking sharp yet incomplete without an old straw hat (and bolero instead of a tie).

You sort of look like a recurring character in Shel Silverstein cartoons. Which is, like, the highest compliment I can give.

Nah man just cuz Phil Jackson went short after the 90s doesn't mean it's the only way to go. Fuck the balding-must-shave hegemony!

RE: conversation on last page, I've been slowly receding at the temples since 2001 or so, but still have only negligible balding on my crown, so I haven't felt really compelled to shave it 'cause otherwise I can't let my increasingly dramatic, villainous widow's peak perform its evil. For the past few years I've clipped it down to a 2 + 3 (layered a bit) in the summertime, religiously re-clipping once every two weeks, but also letting it grow a bit thicker in the fall/winter, when the widow's peak really comes into its own:
The pic on the previous page stems from an offhand comment the girl I'm seeing made re: Alton Brown's hair. Like, that dude has significantly less hair than I do, and he does a spiky thing on one of his shows that (IMO) looks preposterous, but she
totally wants to bang him
(apparently some women find him really sexy...? which I find strange as fuck but, lest I kid myself, it's good news for dudes like me) and I was, uh, shamelessly trying to spike my hair a bit too. I don't wear it like that normally! That pic I posted in the glasses thread is how my hair looks.
I do find the 'balding guy shave vs. no shave' dilemma kind of interesting, and when I eventually start balding more on the crown I'll probably think about it some more. Or not! I dunno, I'm not particularly given to vanity re: my hair, 'cause it's looked completely terrible and ridiculous since I was a kid and I'm kinda glad to have less of it to deal with!
