best part of cbs's post is actually the complete 180 from her previous stance of "Americans are backwards fundamentalist Christian racists who are beyond hope" to "it's not even realistic that anything bad could come of reversing the CRA, attitudes have changed drastically since then!"

Ladies don't miscarry! That shit would be unconstitutional!
Well if you wanna get extra lolconservatives about it, in the past year I think Florida was trying to make miscarriages a crime. If a woman miscarried, there would be an investigation to see if she had done anything negligent, and she could be charged if they found evidence she wasn't just sitting still on the couch being a baby incubator. This is despite the fact that most are due to developmental/chromosomal issues that you can't really control, not because you had a beer or exercised too much. So yknow, in case a woman has a miscarriage, in addition to all the emotional stuff that comes with it, she gets treated like a criminal too! Yay! (I have no idea if this went into effect.)

2011 saw the most anti-choice and anti-woman bills introduced in state governments since ever! Things are different for the better!

It was Georgia, and thankfully that law was the work of one crackpot legislator and never really went anywhere.

The way it was worded, prosecutors could seek the death penalty for a negligent miscarriage!

Say what you will about Babar's trolling or butt pics, an anti-Title IX rant out of nowhere? Well played

it was an immediate product of the civil rights act and equally mishandled, appealing to the lowest common denominator.

if you consider me polarized it's a misreading on your part, referring to opposite ends of the political spectrum. on the conservative end of things americans tread startlingly rote modes of ideology, while liberals are known as more pragmatic. according to mri's our brains are built differently, which makes sense, since it seems so hard to come to terms with how to conduct ourselves as people. i can't imagine conditions where i could ever agree with attacking a woman who had suffered the trauma of a miscarriage or invading the homes and lives of people in a country where there may be an ideological rift, especially one that's already at a significant socioeconomic disadvantage. it seems cruel and unjust to think blowing up these people and their goats makes the world a better place:

On the basis of CBS's butt pixx, I could glibly argue that the civil rights movement 'failed'

Because the USA is such a big country with many differing cultures within it. That means that even if a slight majority is of one position, the slight minority gets extorted into living with the views of the majority. So I think a way to bypass this flaw of democracy is to have 50 mini-democracies that basically rule themselves but have the same constitution to abide to.
This is a) not how America works and b) not how Ron Paul thinks America ought to work (see, again, the 14th Amendment).

The weird thing about this whole affair is that because of Babar's infatuation with the across-the-board libertarianism that Paul espouses, he has set up for himself a situation where has to adopt the man's policies on deeply specific—historically and geographically—issues regarding the structure of the government of the United States, issues which I cannot imagine him having any actual, a priori attraction to or motivation about one way or the other, were they not apparently necessary to come down on in order to express support for this politician he likes. Thus he has apparently formed an opinion on the matter of states' rights and federalism! All politics truly is local.

if that were true then nobody outside of america would be concerned with your elections. it should be true, but it's not, because of the extent your politics affect those beyond your borders.

Haha, I will always win the post-abhorrent-shit-about-Paul/Obama piss contest. Politics are kinda like the Superbowl right?

Obama blocked UN human rights investigations at Guantanamo

I'd rather just talk about issues though
