women - He doesn't want to repeal Roe v Wade if that's what you're getting at.
Yes he absolutely fucking does.  We know this because...
Quote
He wants abortion to be handled at a state level
...which is only possible if Roe v. Wade is overturned, as that decision cast abortion in terms of fundamental rights under the federal constitution.
Quote
minorities - I think a government that doesn't categorize people into minorities and rather embraces the individual would be much better equipped to achieve racial harmony.
This is barely even a sentence.
Quote
Plus, the federal war on drugs is racist and he wants to end that.
State wars-on-drugs are also racist, and he doesn't want to end those.  Discrimination and segregation are racist, and he wants to bring those back.  Racism is racist, and he doesn't believe that there should be private recourse against it.
Quote
I think free market along with individual and economic liberty is best for the poor, you think welfare programs run by government and funded by taxpayers is best for the poor.
We think this because free market absolutism has proven wonderfully adept at creating poverty.
Quote
It's not like when he's sworn in he's gonna cancel all the welfare programs in a day.
Wait, you mean he doesn't have magical powers to enact whatever policies he sees fit, thereby making his concern with the War On Drugs more than a sop to throw at disillusioned leftists?
Quote
a bigger deficit.
The deficit does not mater in a depression.  Deficit spending is necessary to replace diminished private spending and create employment.  After economy is productive again, government spending can be contracted.  Austerity policies during a depression are disastrous, and that's why Europe is currently on the brink of fucking itself to death.

It is not enough to simply say something is a difference of opinion when there is empirical precedent.

As Antero pointed out, overturning Roe v. Wade is what it would take to "leave it up to the states." And, you know, the "leave it up to the states" thing is such a despicable bullshit position.  If you're pro-life because you think abortion is murder and it should be legally treated as such, well, at least that position has some internal logic. But if your position is "Dunno, better leave it up to the states," you're still being pro-choice, you're just in favor of taking that choice from women and giving it to state legislators. The only way that makes sense if you straight-up don't trust women to make that choice.

If you're pro-life because you think abortion is murder, we have a disagreement, but if you're pro-life because you don't trust women, you're just an asshole.

the poor - This is where we fundamentally disagree. I think free market along with individual and economic liberty is best for the poor, you think welfare programs run by government and funded by taxpayers is best for the poor.

This is legendary trolling right here (ya boy 'mo-'mo knows good trolling when he sees it)

The tiny cute icelander infected by american pop culture who turns out to be a rabidly civil ill-informed Paulite is inarguably a more refined troll form than the batshit racist hippie alcoholic canadian bisexual though.

babar has been nothing but a lovely conversationalist and your derision of his contributions should put your mother to shame for not teaching you better manners. now that ron paul is out of the running we don't have much to talk about now, do we? no other candidate has a shred of anything resembling integrity or even anything remotely interesting to say. all you're left with now is this ridiculous farce of corporate shills pulling a money grab under the pretence of democracy.

while i fully support reproductive rights, not everybody feels the same way and it makes sense that each state should be able to decide for itself how to regulate the matter. if you don't like how things are being done then either protest or strike. the fact that americans would allow for women's rights to be eroded says more about it's population then anything, what you're willing to stand for. international military interference is more offensive to me then restrictions on birth cancellations, as well as the implication that the rights of unwanted american fetuses should be of greater concern then the lives of innocent families abroad. it's repellently nationalistic.

you talk about the civil rights act as though without it the country would revert to hangings and cross burnings, give it a rest. the mindset of the people has changed over the decades. that's not to say that racism doesn't exist but that regulating equality doesn't change minds. it's like title ix, the controversial cause of men and women receiving equal funding for school sport teams. do you really think men's volleyball should get as much as the women's team? or that women's basketball deserves as much attention as the men's? i can't help but roll my eyes at how unrealistic this is, to call it discrimination for a school to be allowed to provide funding as they see fit based on interest and need, and that people having to fight for what they believe in makes for far greater, lasting change then arbitrary decisions made by powers that be. how can a black man be proud of his accomplishments when his employer was forced to hire him? how can a women's team enjoy new uniforms when the bleachers are sparsely populated and it cost the state champion men's team money they sorely needed? the power should be taken out of politics and put back in the hands of those it affects. hawaii stopped funding helicopter raids on marijuana operations the november before last under the peaceful skies act and has been writing letters to obama requested that they stop sending federal agents since they would rather live with drugs then the disruptions to the peace that fighting them causes. why are they still sending helicopters despite the states wishes? what are americans doing patrolling the world when they have enough of their own unsolved problems to take care of at home?

It seems that the international community has lost faith in our political system.

do you have faith in your own political system? honestly? i've seen a lot of comments that make it clear it's understood that congress holds control and that the fear mongering is working, it seems people believe things can only change for the worst, but do you feel public interest is being fairly represented? how could obama appoint michael taylor, a lobbyist for monsanto, as senior advisor to the commissioner of the fda? americans: i don't know if you realize how crazy things look from the outside.

Thanks for all the praise guys, I'm gonna answer my boy Iggy right here.

Give me a step-by-step explanation of how to 'embrace the individual' and how to get from there to racial harmony.

Basically, every individual is unique and should have freedom to do as he please as long as it doesn't infringe on the freedom of others. Same goes with two or more individuals that have mutual agreement, this includes gay marriage, assisted suicide, prostitution, gambling, a duel to the death at dawn or whathaveyou. So if the government emphasizes the individual rather than categorize people into minorities, in due time society will follow. Complete racial harmony will probably take a a few hundred years but a little baby step towards that would be a government that treats all individuals as equal.

Tell me why abortion is best handled at the state level. Wouldn't a state outlawing abortion infringe on individual and economic liberty?

Because the USA is such a big country with many differing cultures within it. That means that even if a slight majority is of one position, the slight minority gets extorted into living with the views of the majority. So I think a way to bypass this flaw of democracy is to have 50 mini-democracies that basically rule themselves but have the same constitution to abide to. Also, corruption is more dangerous when concentrated in one place rather than spread across 50 places. Personally I am pro-choice but that doesn't mean I think that those who are pro-life are completely wrong, they simply disagree with me. Biologically life begins at conception so abortion could be viewed as infringing on the individual liberty of an unborn person. The constitution also says to protect life and biologically a fetus is alive. Sociologically, life begins at birth and I think that's more important, because a fetus may be a human life but it is not a person. This is one of Paul's issues that I'm not overly crazy about but thinks make a lot of sense in some ways, I at least explain my position on it and don't try to avoid it. Like I've stated before the main reasons I like Paul is because of his foreign policy and emphasis on individual liberty, two issues Obama has atrocious policy on in my opinion. Now, if there was a guy like Kucinich running for the Dems I might be down with that but as long as war-mongering Obama is running I need to ferociously rally against him on obscure internet forums.

"The constitution protects life" is not only demonstrably false, it's like a sub-John Stossel talking point. Seriously you guys should stop engaging with this.

Amendment XIV, Section 1.
I stress that I am pro-choice though, I just try to understand the opposing position.

When a woman gets an abortion, the state is not depriving the unborn fetus of anything
