Yeah, I mean, that happens entirely off-stage in the book; you just hear later that Cersei had that done. I was surprised as hell that we actually got it. So awesome.

I really like the way that was staged, actually, with the first watchman hesitating and then the camera following from behind the watchman who stepped up--it was totally the kind of moment that you expect something or someone to intervene at the last moment, kill the bad guys, save the child. Nope. Baby stabbin'. I hope we get more stuff like that that plays with and then defies our expectations for this kind of genre fiction; it's not just that the violence is titillating, it's that it demonstrates how being titillated by it presupposes a moral framework that for the most part doesn't operate in this universe.

Yeah, I just got it from Pirate's Bay.

I pay for Netflix and Hulu. If there were a way to get HBO Go legally without paying for a whole giant cable package, I totally would.

It's weird. I loved it when I first watched it. It was one of my first experiences of going through and watching an entire series from start to finish with someone (in this case, my friend Scott). We watched through it pretty quickly, and though I found certain characters and plots annoying, on the whole, I was quite fond of the show.

And then I tried re-watching it. And I couldn't. Fucking. Stand it.
