Q: Is anyone at Coca-Cola trying to figure out a way to get sugar out of all drinks?
A: There is a large portion of the population that relies on the carbohydrates and energy in our regular beverages. When my son gets home from school, he needs a pick-up with calories and great taste.

Yo I think I messed up my junk on last weekend's long ride. My penis (and to a lesser degree, my testes) have been numb since. I did read up about it and it's apparently pretty common, that you compress the soft tissue of your perineum which can lead to nerve damage, and it might last a couple of weeks. Having your saddle too low is a likely culprit. Anyway, even though I know it's most likely going to fade, it's still a bummer and a little scary though because I don't want to have permanently messed up my man-bits.

It did inspire me to order this saddle though:

She's a smooth talker. She talks about other Coca-Cola brands instead of the OG soda (making up on the spot some bullshit personal daily beverage routine so she can namedrop a bunch of them), passively shouts out longtime marketing partner McDonald's, even has an awesome villainess name ("Katie Bayne")

:-(

I'd like to hear how your new bike seat works out. The bloke has had similar problems and for a while used the daggiest saddle imaginable. It's hornless, and I can't believe it's at all comfortable, but he said it was much better than having his bits all squashed...

I saw a saddle like that once ("hornless" or at least I think I know what you mean by that) and I didn't figure I'd have as much control hands-free as a normal saddle would

I bought one of the non-ball-crushing kind just before my bike was stolen last summer. I should be thinking about getting another I guess, I'm of an age where my balls need all the help they can get

Dude! It's a joke about the shape of the cutout in the seat! Don't get all mad.

The noseless saddles do force you to put your weight on your sit-bones rather than your soft tissue, but, as Jim suggests, you lose a lot of navigational ability. You might get away with using one of these sorts of saddles if the vast majority of your riding is cruiser/leisurely, but such a saddle would be disasterous on a road bike or even most commuters.

The problem, for me anyway, isn't so much my balls being crushed so much as putting too much pressure on my perenium. Part of it is that my saddle height was a bit off, and since adjusting my saddle height (raising it about a half inch), I've been much more comfortable, and I'm not feeling as much pressure on the soft tissue--and my numbness seems to be going away. Still, knowing that I have that long ride coming up, I don't want to take any chances, and I've read a lot of good things about the cutout saddles.

50lbs in 5 months. Weirdly, my endurance level seems to be going down... ? Maybe it's just a phase, but I have to *really* push myself lately to finish the same workout I was doing in OH mindlessly 6x/week.

Anyway I'm finally getting sick of the same hour-long cardio routine every morning. I think it's going to be weight training 2x-3x/week in the near future.

Dude, that is seriously awesome, and gives me hope.

Have you been taking in less calories, eating worse, or sleeping less? If you're stressed from the move/trying to find a job, that could definitely sap your energy as well.

I'm hoping I don't get too sick of my routine, because as it is, there's not much else I can do without risking my achilles tendinitis flaring up.

Also, new saddle came today, and it is SUPER comfortable. I road around for a while and it's seriously great. It's not too cushy--it's soft where it needs to be soft and firm where it needs to be firm, and my junk is already feeling great relief. I'm looking forward to testing it out on a longer ride, since that's when the numbness really kicks in.

I guess this is more suited for the bike thread, but since we started the discussion here, here it will stay.
