I love Ace. I feel like some of the heads on LPTJ might get down on him for being backpacker shit or something but he's one of the best lyricists I know, he's beats are almost always interesting and he's awesome live.

i still return fairly frequently to labor days. instrumentally, it's just a mind blowing piece of art. lyrically, aesop is working in a space that i don't think many emcees have returned to since. it's just a very singular work. i remember liking bazooka tooth a lot, but would have to re-evaluate that from almost ten years (!?) later. none shall pass is easily his best rapped album, and it's a shame that it had to come after the def jux wave had crested (ditto to hell's winter).

okay. listen to killer mike's verse here. mike wakes up shaggy, tells him that they're missing their baggies...of scooby snacks, and the rest goes down like a killer mike song should. get your dealer to front you a new brick, search for the perp, deal with said perp, profit, pay back, etc. now my question is how this even made it to the soundtrack. didn't this have to go through a whole bunch of marketers? didn't one of them realize what was going on here?

I was mainly responding to how PSYCHED he was when (apparently, idk) it came out that she's actually of-age. I ain't hate too much, and he can certainly get obsessed with random things at his leisure, but something about the tone of his posts about her seems off and leering and make me cringe a little, is all. Probably shouldn't have brought it up it here, given the circumstances.
